Our family of four (kids aged 10 and 14) joined Wayo Africa for a seven days and six nights safari. We stayed at Wayo Africa's own Green Camp in Lake Manyara for two nights, at the Rhino Lodge on the Ngorongoro Crater rim for one night and finally for three nights at Wayo's Green Camp at Banagi in Serengeti NP.

Our guide Emmanuel was incredibly good at spotting wildlife and had a lot of knowledge to share, about wildlife and also about the people in the areas we visited. He was very flexible and attentive to everyones interests and needs, simply a very good guide.

We all enjoyed the village walk in Mto Wa Mbe.The accommodation, the vehicle and the food were all great. Hearing lions and hyenas outside the tent at night was quite a thrill! A walking safari with an armed park ranger in Lake Manyara NP was even more exiting - we had to change plans because of two lions that were in our way and clearly did not want us to come any closer.

Sure, you can visit the amazing Tanzania parks and stay in fancy lodges with even fancier food. But if your goal is to truly maximize the experience, I would recommend WAYO for its perfect combination of comfortable, in-park tented camps, environmental consciousness, and awesome guides.

We spent four wonderful days with Wayo, including a night in the Lake Manyara Green Camp, two nights in the Central Serengeti Green Camp, and a night at Rhino Lodge for the Crater portion of our Safari. The camps were awesome. Juice and wet towels on arrival; quite decent breakfasts and dinners; wonderful chance to chat over meals with fellow travelers from around the world. Warm shivers and comfortable beds.

Best of all, though, were the locations. The first, quite close to the Lake so you could watch both the incredible bird life as well as the larger animals. The second, quite close to a river used by Hippos, among other things. Not only could we hear the Hippos munching close by our tent at night but we could also watch them from the safety of the tent.

But as good as the arrangements were (Thanks Lauren for working with us on that), they pale in comparison to the incredible quality of our guide, Prim. Another reviewer referred to him as "Professor" because of the depth and breadth of his knowledge. They got it right. Unbelievable. So knowledgeable and passionate. And so much fun, to boot. We have had good guides before, but Prim is in a league of his own. We adored every minute we spent with him, whether walking or in the Land Cruiser. He is an absolutely amazing spotter: unlike other guides, who use their radios to share sightings and then rush there, we had the real thing. Prim spotted things that nobody else did, and also helped us to understand the behaviors we were seeing.

If you are considering other operators, stop now and book with these guys. And if you really want to learn, ask for Prim.

It was an extraordinary trip to the lake Manyara, Ngorongoro crater und Serengeti. Our guide Shafino was perfect, he spoke very well english, he was incredibly knowledgeable and we could learn every day plenty of new things about animals, nature and people from him. He always found the best spots to observe animals, we have seen more than I thought I will ever see (big 9, migration, cheetah eating a gazelle, lion stealing this gazelle..).

The camps from Wayo are also a great experience for a night in the middle of the parcs. Wayo Green Camp Lake Manyara and Green Camp Banagi in Serengeti are placed in the middle of the wild life and we liked it to hear and see animals while staying at the camps (elephant, girafes, baboons, hyena..). I can clearly recommand those both camps, also the personal was very friendly.

When you are asking a quote you should consider the price of the tips as it is also an important budget (guide, camp personal) -im our case unfortunately we only received the information from Wayo as we had already booked.

Overall a great experience we can fully recommand.

We were only the second group that did the cycling trip in Arusha NP with Wayo Africa.
It was a tough ride but we didnt see to many animals (mostly monkeys). They ride with a jeep behind the bikes and there is a armed ranger, but I think Its mostly show (money for local people).
Advice for Wayo Africa: some sweets and drinks for the cycling people on the move is a good idea, because Its a tough ride and pick the people up from the hotel and give them a lift to the starting point (Thats more service..).
For cyclingtrips I think Arusha NP is way(o) to expansive.. there are cheaper options outside the parc.

Our quick 3 day safari was absolutely fantastic. Everything we hoped for and more.

I had gotten quotes from 6 different safari companies and am so glad I went with Wayo. The entire booking process was easy and friendly. They answered all my questions quickly and had great suggestions for the amount of time we wanted to spend, as well as helped us with flights and arranged for us to store vehicles at their office.

Our guide was an incredibly sweet and knowledgeable. We spent two days in Serengeti and one in Ngorongoro. We cannot believe how many animals we saw just on day 1! The green camp was serene and the food was delicious. Our lodge the last night outside the crater was so special, we both want to go back some day and just spend a few days relaxing there.
