Pleasant enough pre or post safari spot. A dozen or so separate bungalows around a cold but swimmable. Some quirks like flickering interior lights and concrete floors. Instant coffee! Staff tries hard. Big problem though is proximity to mosque with loudspeaker call to prayer at ungodly times. 5:30 am and again 6:30!!!they go for 5-10!mins although seems longer. I know they can’t do anything about it but in fairness they should warn before booking.

Our trip may have been tainted by a late (2am) arrival and an 8am departure but for something described as “for the discerning traveller”, it didn’t really meet that criteria for us. Breakfast was very disappointing. Accommodation was average at best. And it was such a long drive (almost an hour and a half from Kilimanjaro airport) at that time of night that it simply wasn’t worth it. It may be different if you get to enjoy the pool, etc, but as a mere stopover it did not live up to expectations.

We came in late to the Arusha Safari Lodge after a long flight down from Amsterdam but the staff were still available and provide a nice dinner before we retired to our clean and adorable room. In the morning we walked around before breakfast and enjoyed the immaculately maintained grounds.

Friends had recommended this place as it's beautiful and has a nice pool. They have a 20,000tzs 3 course lunch and a swim is included. Which is really reasonable.
Me and a friend went last Sunday. We get charged 50,000tzs each for a 2 course lunch (salad and a small main), then an extra 10,000tzs for a swim!
We would have recommended Arusha Safari Lodge to lots of people as we live here. We won't now however as we felt we got completely ripped off!

Was a day beautifully spent n with the hot climate n long drive, the pool was a welcome n refreshing place to retreat to.. A private place n so quiet n was good as we had a baby with us.. Staff were so accommodating n the meals worth it.. Though l wish portions were adult sized n couldn't get choice of sodas as they were out of stock n gone to be bought from the town.. Too bad it took the whole day..
But it was a beautiful day spent at a beautiful place.

Dear Vecky,

Thank you for staying at Safari Lodge and for posting this feedback. As you mention, our gardens are lovely, manicured lawns, indigenous trees and plants. The swimming pool is large and enticing, the perfect place to cool down and relax, in a quiet and private property. We do regret the meal portions were not what you expected, and we would have adjusted them, had your wishes been communicated. We are very pleased, though, that you enjoyed your visit and hope to host you again in the future.
