So Many Problems! The only good thing was that our food was tasty but the coordination of wait staff was horrible! Waitress was late to work, & our hostess got us started w/ taking our drink order. During dinner, a random drink was "dropped off" at our table (we had red wine, this was chardonnay, & our waitress never even checked to ask us who wanted this new glass of wine) She walked quickly by and literally dropped it on the table. After we got her attention, told her it was not ours, she apologized and removed it. I later got charged for this !(check your bill!) The table behind us also got a Margarita dropped off by a server, as they were eating dessert & coffee. (again , not theirs) Our dessert came (see picture) and no cutlery. Did she not notice that we had nothing? We waited, then helped ourselves to the cutlery from a nearby station. I waited a minute, and realized our coffee was not here (coffee & dessert together??) I got up to speak w/ Hostess. I also explained about the wine & the cutlery and our displeasure. The coffee was brought to our table; black, no cream or sugar. For the 2nd time, I went to the Hostess for the cream /sugar. (as our Server was never around to ask). ~ Ate our dessert. The server dropped off the check, apologized for our troubles and left abruptly . As I analyzed the check , I found they charged for the wine we did not order. I also noted "20%" off the bill. Waitress never even said, "Oh, our apologies for your troubles; we've given you a percent off your bill ". Now, for the 3rd time, I went to the Hostess. Our check was wrong! She apologized again, and did tell us about the percent taken off the bill. I said, the waitress never really offered that information and she should have. I was told our Waitress was recently elevated to "Top Waitress" or whatever title they gave her for being in charge of the others...I laughed out loud and said "Are you kidding me!??" Unbelievable! For an upscale Hotel, this experience was far below our expectations! ~ The following morning, as we ate our breakfast buffet at our Marriot hotel, the food server there was 100 times better than our experience the night before. She was personable, friendly, offered us a paper, helped w/ our food, connected with each guest. The Renaissance Hotel in Albany needs to really look at their organization of dinner service!
