I wrote about our experience over Christmas 2015-16 of being over-charged compared to others and see it has been removed. The hotel charged us more per night, than others who were first timers, it was out 5th stay. Very disappointed.
What is the point of providing an honest appraisal?

I booked the Puri Santrian for the last 3 days of our trip, I wanted a bungalo room but got upgraded to the new wing which was not what I wanted as it was a very sterile hotel room not Balinese style at all. It is very expensive and there is no view from your room. Basically a big hotel experience much better to stay in the smaller villas in the area and for the price of the room you don't get transfers they are an extra us$20 to the airport. The resort itself is lovely great facilities by the beach if you get in early to get the good sun loungers with shade facility but I'm sure people get up at dawn to reserve those as there were always towels on the good ones and the lounges on the beach didn't have umbrellas so sitting on them would not be much fun in the Bali sun! to have a juice cost 50,000 rupiah but just outside the hotel its 12,000 rupiah for the same thing.
Would definitely never recommend or stay here again!

We stayed for 9 nights in a Santrian Club room after being given a free upgrade. I would highly recommend staying in the Club rooms as the pool is by far the most interesting and appealing and it is a quiet and secluded area allowing you to sit by the pool all day and relax with no children around. Overall there weren't alot of kids around the hotel at all which was nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A walk around the local Sanur area confirms that Puri Santrian has the most beautiful and spacious grounds. The beach is a bit dirty compared to other luxury hotels but you have 3 amazing pools to swim in so it is not a huge issue. Breakfast is delicious and there is alot of variety, and you can eat it at the Beach Club restaurant which has a stunning view of the ocean. The dinner service at the Beach Club restaurant was very slow but the food/view is excellent. We had a body treatment at the spa which was amazing but turns out to be very expensive with the extra charges they add on and probably not worth it. My only criticisms would be that the wifi is very slow, the shower was not great and the hot water took about 10 minutes to heat up. This didn't bother us too much because overall, our stay was amazing and Puri Santrian stands above any other hotels in the Sanur area.

Room Tip: Santrian Club room gives access to the best pool in the hotel.

I've stayed here several times and the hotel is going downhill in service and maintainence. The pools are nice (although there should be an adult pool only), clean beach, good location.

The pool and rec staff are rude and lazy - bad energy and attitudes. The hotel and restaurant staff are nice and kind. The hotel policies of 1 towel pp (the hotel was empty) and charging for rickety bikes (where most hotels offer free) and trying to charge corkage at the beach lounge chair when asking for an ice bucket and glasses are pretty anti guest. The rooms are adequate but older.

Underwhelmed.

We were staying for 10 days and ended up staying for another 5 days. We stayed in the premier suites and they were just beautiful. The staff at Puri Santrian are professional friendly and very caring The restuarants are great and the massage by the pool is exceptional. Puri Santrian offers so many different things to do they have yoga cooking classes all water sports. Thank you Puri Santrian
