We were a bevy of nine loud women who were meeting up after almost 30years and decided to choose Varanasi to do so. A friend recommended Roobaroo and we are so glad we opted for them. We undertook the North Walk and combined it with a food walk. We saw some real hidden gems which we perhaps would never have chanced upon had we tried to see Benares all by ourselves. We gorged on the lip smacking local delicacies while on the walk. Our guide Saurabh is a storehouse of information. We got fascinating insights to history, mythology and folklore and the best part he was so witty and I must add above all patient! It is not easy handling an all women group that was running late and creating quite a cacophony!. Saurabh also helped us with shops to buy papad and pickles and they are out of this world. The sites that we visited were beautiful...i will not divulge what all we saw...that should remain a mystery but if ever one wants to visit Varanasi please do experience atleast one walk with Roobaroo. Totally totally worth it!

Myself, my sister Arundhati and her husband Gowri Sankar took the heritage walk of Varanasi with Ms.Mudita Bapat of Roobaroo Walks on Dec.21, 2019. We all are senior citizens. Mudita took us on a 4 and half hour walking tour of Varanasi lanes and the ghat side. Mudita is an excellent tour guide and story teller. She is proficient in English and Hindi, is a store house of Varanasi History. She very expertly guided us through the crowded lanes of Benaras telling very interesting facts about the places we were walking through. She very well adjusted to our age and never forced the pace of walk. In the time she spent with us we learn't lot about Varanasi, thanks to Mudita.
She is a delightful person, with good sense of humor, very courteous and well educated person. Our vehicle was parked at some distance from where the tour started, she walked with us to the car parking area and waited till we boarded the car and then signed off. We will strongly recommend her to all our friends and relations visiting Varanasi.

Roobaroo Walks is an excellent tour providers. During our stay at Varanasi the internet facility was blocked for couple of days and we had difficulty in paying the fees. They readily agreed to give us time till we returned home and make the payment. Hats off to them. We did not visit their office nor met personally any one in Rooobaroo Office. All communication was over the phone only.

We really enjoyed our guided walk of the city of Varanasi - the walk was called Varanasi Dawn to Dusk. The walk started at 5.30 am with a ceremony on the banks of the Ganges. We then took a boat ride in the Ganges with a singing boatman (!). From the boat we then had a yoga session. We returned to the hotel for breakfast and resumed the tour at about 11. We were taken to make some paper mache masks which was great. We then had some food and walked around the old city taking in the markets hidden temples and ending at Manikarnika the cremation ghat. The day finished with another boat ride to see the evening ceremony at Dashashwarmedh . The guide Mudita the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Overall it was a fabulous experience.

It was a wonderful experience! The treasures tucked in the by lanes of Varanasi couldn't have been experienced in a better way than this. Mudita was very cordial and made our time memorable.

Dear Saurabh,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry you had a less than expected experience with us. We covered Kabir's school, the 5 rivers, Alamgir mosque, and a history capsule of Varanasi at Panchganga ghat along with a walk through the nearby Gallis. Given that Panchganga ghat is itself only 1 among 10+ stops on the walk, these are what we have felt are the most key elements in the area. Besides that, each nook of Varanasi has a story to tell and it's practically impossible for us to cover everything in a span of a few hours. If you'd have told us about a specific place you wanted to visit, we would have been happy to include that.
As for the pricing, we had informed you of the price beforehand. Our group walk prices are already lower than our private walk prices. And we do have an additional discount for large groups as well (5 or more people).
Anyway, we hope that you did find something good from joining the walk, and had an overall great stay in Varanasi.
Best regards,
Aayush
