We had 3 tours booked for our stay in Varanasi. Our first was an early morning boat trip. Our guide Saurabh was wonderful , we had chai at 6am sitting looking at the sunrise over the Ganges, magical, he was very entertaining, knowledgeable of his city a good guide. Our second tour was a morning walk with Sudarshan which was beyond description but truly amazing. Sudarsham found us quiet places every so often where he explained the religion and culture of his city which we appreciated. He was such a warm and friendly guide, again so knowledgeable of the city that he wanted to share with us. Another interesting time spent, we had a very enjoyable time with him. Our third tour was to the temples at Sarnath again our guide was Sudarshan, which we enjoyed very much and found fascinating with Sudarshan's knowledge once again, so much so we over ran our time there. We would highly recommend Roobaroo walks, the guides are as intreresting as the city it self.

Hey John,
Thank you so much for these rewarding words. It was such a pleasure hosting you and Susan here in Varanasi.

Me and Saurabh enjoyed so much walking with you guys. You both are so young at heart.

We would love to walk again with you guys someday and exchange more fascinating stories together.
Keep travelling!

Love,
Sudarshan

I've studied in Varanasi for four years, yet when I went back in February and took this tour with another college batchmate and other friends, we covered aspects of history, mythology, culture and food of Varanasi that I had never seen before. And it was exceptional!

The walk was was perfect in all aspects - there was depth and width in the topics we spoke about (Varanasi's connection with Shiva, the laidback life, the significance of the river, local myths and folklore, life and death); we had food at a lot of places, all of which were carefully selected among the best in Varanasi, but we were not 'full' till the very end. Ayush was incredibly patient with us - we kept stopping at any place we really liked, and so a 3-4 hour walk ended up lasting over 6 hours.

I recently also did the Old Delhi walk with Roobaroo, and it is just as good. Roobaroo is now my favourite way to enjoy any city, and I look forward to the next one!

Highly recommend this walk.

There's no better way to make the acquaintance of a city than by walking. In this well paved tour we visited temples, markets and landmarks which in a city as frenetic and chaotic as Varanasi would have required great effort and patience to find with a guidebook. It was a pleasure to share in our our guide Anupam's obvious enthusiasm and knowledge of his home town; we felt that we were exploring the city with a friend. We covered an amazing amount of ground, both physically and historically.

Everything about this was well planned. I joined the boat tour of Dev Diwali. They were friendly and informed and helpful. They had treats for us and lamps to light. They took pictures for us and told stories. They were great!

Aayush and Sudarshan were very prompt with information as we planned our tour with Roobaroo. They were exceptionally helpful in making sure that we were all able to fully enjoy the tour, including making special arrangements for an elderly member of our family.
