I'm a regular customer of Shangri-la Shenzhen. There may be limitation in the hardware because of the glorious past of the hotel, but your staff are truly amazing. 

MONICA LI: 
Monica Li of the Sales Department deserves a special commendation for her outstanding and professional services. I haven't been back in the hotel since March because of COVID. The pandemic seems to be under control again so yesterday I got Monica to help me with my room booking for early June which she took care of perfectly WITHIN MINUTES.
Then again, I asked Monica to help prepare for delivery of some DuanWuJie Rice Dumpling Gift Box for me to Dongguan. Again, she organized everything, it's just a breeze for her. I can tell you that I'm savoring the yummy rice dumplings RIGHT NOW over lunch here ( i.e. in less than 14 hours.) This indeed is SPEEDY SERVICE and EFFECIENCY! Monica DID IT ALL.

JUNE HE:
June He of the Front Office also took good care of me and my family all the time, and made us feel like coming home whenever we're back in the Shang.

Rebecca, thank you very much for training your staff so well. They're indeed your most valuable asset. Can't wait to be back again soon enough!

I would truly give our experience a 3.5. The hotel is very dated and in need of some updating. Our biggest disappointment was booking the Horizon Club room and realizing that the Club was not open. That is very disappointing and should be made clear on the website while booking. Also, the gym and pool were closed for at least one of our three days there which is also not ok.
Since we went for the lounge experience as a staycation, something a lot of people in China are doing, we were very disappointed that we could not get the full experience. My wife and I understand that the hotel is under-occupancy due to Covid and some decisions must be made around that but some things could be handled better.
Breakfast has a very good variety with high quality product. My wife and I are always excited to get fresh pancakes and waffles. Unfortunately those items were not made fresh. They were prepped in advance and left to sit for way too long. This could be said of many items on the buffet. It would be best that if the buffet is so slow with customers that most items are made to order.
The afternoon tea was fine but had no variety at all. We went to another 5 star hotel that also closed their lounge and they at least had a small menu of options to make things more exciting and interesting. The same could be said for happy hour. There were no options given. Just trays of food brought out. If you didn't like something, too bad. Once again, a small menu of items to choose could be a simple and effective solution.
On a more positive note, the open bar concept was still available at happy hour. So that was nice. Also, and I can't stress enough that two women working in the lobby lounge made our experience all the better. I was thinking of leaving on the first day when I realized that the lounge was closed but the kindness, hospitality and service of the lobby staff made us change our minds. Kate and Evelyn in particular were excellent. They tried very hard to speak English to us and were always attentive and caring. We don't eat beef or pork and they made sure to only give foods that we eat. I can't stress enough the excellence of their service.
To be honest, the service in general was above average and way better than the hotel itself. The hotel itself was a disappointment, the hospitality of the workers was a highlight. The room ayi was excellent and spoke the most English of any ayi we've encountered. The staff of the hotel would almost bring us back. If the club was open, we would not hesitate to return.

Coming back to the Shangri-la Shenzhen yet again amid another outbreak of COVID in the city, I immediately feel at home the moment I step onto the hotel lobby. As always Collin Cheng 程振勇 of the Front Office has got my room readily and well prepared the way it should be awaiting my arrival.
When I visited the Horizon Lounge later in the evening I was as always happily greeted by friendly and hospitable staff that I know from before. Lin CaiYing 林彩英 Lounge Chef was a saint, constantly checking in and making sure that we at all times would savor sumptuous culinary delights. Zoey Wei XiaoLing 韦晓玲 Lounge Attendant even went out of her way to fetch French rolls specially for me from Coffee Garden.
Besides excellent services, the staff is truly amazing and makes me feel at home always. My heartfelt congratulations to General Manager Rebecca Yan and her team ... always a step ahead.

Dear Shangri-La’s Manager:

I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for the service and care I received at your Hotel from 25/10 to 28/10 . I’m pre-celebrating my first 30s birthday , and I wanted it to be perfect. Your staff did not disappoint me. 

Your GRO, Ciel , was able to get a lovely pillow at the first night which makes me feel a lot of love and care .
She was also arranged a one-day tour of the Window of the World, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Staying in Shangri-La actually enhanced my vacation experience.

Every staff member with whom I came in contact was attentive and kind including Nina in front desk , I have already decided to return to Shangri-La for my next vacation, which will be next week .

I had a wonderful two days vacation, and I have recommended Shangri-La to all of my colleagues, friends and family. Thank you again for such outstanding service.

The hotel is rated five-stars hotel but it is not worth with that price.Firstly,i hope the attitude of the staff can be improved.They don't look like friendly.Secondly,effect of soundproofing is really bad.I can even hear phone talking from other room.Thirdly,facilities are supposed to be updated.Especially for air conditioner,i couldn't control temperature and feel really cold on midnight.
