Excellent foot trails and running path in picturesque setting. 1mi stair climb to red lantern structure at top of Qifeng Mountain for beautiful views of Dongguan city. Paved loop trail offers excellent ~10mi run around base of mountain.

As I usually stayed at a hotel (Pullman) right next to the park, I'd go over there either in the morning or in the evening. You get to see many locals group-dancing in the square, playing badminton or doing some other interesting sports activities. A stroll in the park can take as little as 30 minutes. If you have more time to explore, you can climb up the hill to the top, which takes about an hour round-trip. The climb gets steep, but I saw many children with their parents on the hill top, where you get a good view of the entire city. Of course, the air gets fresher as you climb up. One caveat, though, is that weekends tend to get very crowded, especially if you bring your own car to park there.

I go there a couple of times a month to go for a walk and enjoy some greenery. Dongguan is a green city but is saturated with ambient noise from cars and daily life. If you get up early enough you can avoid the crowds who also would like to escape the city. they have a couple of 4 km circuits which are linked together for a hilly 8 to 8.5 km walk

Qifeng Park is right on the Dongguan subway line. It's an easy hike up the mountain and offers great views of the city if it's not too cloudy. The lantern lights up at night, which is cool if you stick around for the sunset.
