This place is a hidden gem. They have Western food but I have only tried their Cambodian dishes. My boyfriend and I have been there two days in a row and are planning to go back tonight for dinner. We have tried the loc lac, chicken wings, samlar machu (Cambodian soup), and the stir-fried eggplant with minced pork. Everything has been absolutely delicious with beautiful presentation. The restaurant is clean and nice with free wifi and the staff seemed genuinely excited that we were there. Service was excellent.
I think some of the restaurants that already have a lot of Tripadvisor reviews tend to raise their prices since they get a lot more business. I highly recommend giving this place a try instead. We checked out a couple of the highly reviewed highly rated restaurants that are supposedly inexpensive and their prices are 2-3X higher. And we preferred the taste and presentation of the food at Meng Cafe. The only small thing I could say about this place is that the portion sizes could be larger (as is true for many restaurants in Southeast Asia), but at $2.50 you could get two entrees and still save money. For me, one dish was plenty of food.
Try it if you want some tasty and inexpensive Cambodian food! You won't regret it.
