It's gaining its popularity, so it's not a best kept secret anymore.
Viroth's Hotel is worthy of everything has been praised here in TA, there are rarely any discrepancy that usually could happen on some areas of some establishments that rate highly on TA.
The location is away from Pub Street area at end of a small lane, which acquires it's tranquility, but still within walking distance for dinner and night life if you desire the busy hectic pub street area. There are also some excellent restaurants & coffee shops in the quiet surrounding areas within 10min of walking, such as Viroth's, Hashi (Japanese) & Kroya (fine dinning)....
It could easily the best boutique hotel that I have stayed in all places that I travelled in the past, easily put those in shame that are located in popular cities in the modern world. It is not cheap by Cambodia standard, but well moderately priced, totally worthy of splurge. The room and all onsite facilities are well kept & maintained at all times, the landscape also put you at ease and relaxed while in the hotel.
Wifi is fast (so much better than a modern 5-star hotel I stayed in Dubai after), A/C is cold, shower are powerful, and the amenities are in good quality. The Sokha spa onsite is also excellent from the service to massage, it never fails as I went 3 times, from 90 Khmer massage to a 3.5hr spa.
I have spent 7 days there, and this is my 4th trip to Siem Reap. I would love to visit every other month, if I'd live in Asia, but I am so far in the States.
There are just a couple of recommendation to share your reader & management, as I adore this establishment. The menu in the onsite restaurant is a bit limited, and most food I ordered are quite bland (Viroth nearby is far more superior). Although the overall service from all staffs are excellent, my sincere opinions from my experiences comparing other 4 I have stayed before, is that the restaurant staffs, esp. the breakfast crews, are quite limited with basic English for hospitality, and often struggling with special requests outside of the menu list. They are really nice & hard working, it would be valuable that they can receive additional onsite education and training, to further the service and also for their own advancement. For the following travelers, a bit more patient and kindness would go a long way.
The tourism in Siem Reap has been exploded, in the last 10 years. For those who are thinking of visiting, act fast, before it loses it's charm and character..Viroth's will offer a tranquil place to unwind and to enjoy while you are there.
I did not have the pleasure to meet the manager or owner while there 7 days, I'd like to express my appreciation for all the efforts that they have put into the hotel, it is truly a beautiful place to stay.
