The great service already started before we even reached the hotel. Our flight was delayed and it was late at night when the plane landed. The driver from Sala Lodges, realising that we had not eaten dinner yet, called the restaurant and made sure that the kitchen stayed open. Upon arrival we enjoyed a fantastic Cambodian dinner with a view to the magically lit garden and hamlet.
With its restored, authentic Khmer houses nestled in lush tropical vegetation and stylish additions like the restaurant and infinity pool the concept of Sala Lodges is unique. We stayed in house Pi & Bei with its spacious rooms, beautiful wooden interiors and large bathrooms. The whole family enjoyed lounging on the day-beds inside or on the huge terrace while planning the next excursions. Even though mosquitoes were present, housekeeping made sure that none found its way under the mosquito net at night. As the houses are wooden you listened to the sounds of rain, frogs and cicadas at night which added to authenticity and the feeling of being in the middle of Cambodian countryside.
Breakfast is served starting from 5:30am and throughout the day which is very helpful considering the many things to do and thus it never gets crowded. The contemporary open restaurant serves delicious meals, highly recommended! Service was impeccable and attentive. Especially the polite and friendly staff members won us over at once!

All in all the feeling was rather like staying with family and friends in an exclusive private compound than a hotel. An amazing example of purism and sophistication in perfection.More
