Description: Sister Srey Cafe is a social enterprise in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Established in 2012, Sister Srey was started to be a place for “Good Coffee” whilst creating a supportive space to educate and empower Cambodians. Our vision at Sister Srey Cafe is to support young Khmer students who struggle to keep a balance between study and supporting their family. Each staff member is trained in hospitality, English language skills, personal development, health & hygiene and banking. We are a stepping stone to a brighter future and a means for them to have skills and knowledge to approach the world empowered and confident. Sister Srey Cafe proudly supports APOPO Humanitarian Demining, by donating a percentage of our profits to their efforts towards landmine clearance. Sister Srey is a cafe with a heart, a cafe with the desire to see change and with the ability to do so.

I am not so particular when traveling with my dietary choice - I am usually vegan. Before I came to Siem Reap I stayed in a village in rural area and food that was served was loaded with MSG - as much as they were made with love by villagers, it really made me feel quite sick. So once I arrived in the city, I abandoned the idea of eating street food or traditional Kher but just came here mane times, wishing to cleanse :) They have nice coffee, and great selection of vegan and gluten free options. I loved their rice bowl, avocado toast, and a tiny dessert "Bliss ball". I really appreciated them being there!

We visited Sister Srey twice during our visit to Siem Reap - once for lunch, and another time for coffee.

Great food (with plenty of choices for all tastes - including vegetarians and vegans), wonderful staff and great coffee. I enjoyed a watermelon and fetta salad and hubby loved his chicken and mango burger. The mint and apple and pineapple and mango frappes were deeeeelicious! Everything was so fresh and beautifully prepared.

Centrally located, simply and nicely decorated, it's a great spot to enjoy a meal or a drink and watch the world go by. The only thing I'd change is it would be great not to allow smoking. Whilst we were eating, people were smoking at the front table and their smoke was blowing back into the restaurant, which was horrible :(

We'll definitely be back :)
