Description: Sister Srey Cafe is a Social Enterprise, in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Run and operated by Sisters Lauren And Cassie. The Girls, opened the business to have "Good Coffee" and also help and support Khmer students and to make a sustainable impact into the community. Our vision at Sister Srey Cafe is to support young Khmer students who struggle to keep a balance between study and supporting their family. Each staff member in trained in hospitality, English language skills, personal development, health and hygiene and banking. We are a stepping stone to a brighter future and a means for them to have skills and knowledge to approach the world empowered and confident. Sister Srey has various incentives and activities in which support the local and rural community. The cafe goes to sustainable measures to help the environment and to be as enviromentally friendly as possible. We are commited to being plastic free, having bio degradable food packaging, organic coffee and miniamising waste. Monthly, our staff participate in our community service program "Helping out a friend" Where each staff member chooses a NGO or project of choice and do something for people less fortunate than themselves. To date we have had, staff building wells and toilets for families, participating in a soup kitchen to feed street children and health workshops. Sister Srey also composts all waste and goes to directly to NGO Green Gecko Farm and has a sustainable recycling program and waste management system. Since opening, the Cafe works along side Hearts to Harmony Foundation. This means 20 percent of profits from the Cafe as well as donations go towards Hearts to Harmony to supports individuals through education, health and hygiene, and supports rural families. Sister Srey is a social enterprise. A cafe with a heart, a cafe with the desire to see change and with the ability to do so.

I think I had the best veggie sandwich I have ever had in my life while there. Its 2 Ozzie women who own it, and its quite well done. Good selection of food, clean and welcoming environment... Just be aware that because it is geared toward "do-gooders", there is a larger-than-usual number of beggars who work the outermost tables.

There is good information about various NGOs in the area, and they claim that their proceeds go toward sending kids to school, which is a really good cause. Its in a central part of the city, and we took their sandwiches as a packed lunch to Angkor Wat one day as well.

As unfortunate as it is sometimes we have to resort back to our home comforts during our journey & this was one of these moments. Found this place on the river strip just before the old markets. It's run by Aussies & has fantastic food & exceptional coffee. Great place for breaky also. So if u just need that touch of home for just a moment this is the place to go.
They are supporting the local people also which is a big plus.

In need of nourishment and relief from the mid afternoon sun, I stumbled on this great cafe along the River. The menu offers a lot of veg options; start with the pumpkin soup and you won't be disappointed! They were flexible in adapting veg menu items to my vegan requests too, so be sure to ask if you have any special needs.

The general manager at the hotel that I was staying at recommended sister srey and was she ever right on!!! I loved this place! The food is great and the atmosphere equally fantastic! A very comfortable laid back atmosphere where it is very easy to strike up conversations with other travelers and locals! And, you will enjoy the great saying on the place mats!!!
I met one of the owners of the cafe who is a world of knowledge of the area- she recommended a motorbike tour which was also a highlight of my trip!! I was so glad to start my mornings at sister srey- the eggs were so fresh and tasty !!
You will not be disappointed!!
