Navutu is a beautiful serene place. I did the 3 day detox which was amazing. Louise was wonderful in helping customise and tweak the program to make sure I had plenty of time to see the temples and visit the landmine museum for example. Srey made the most amazing juices and detox recipes -- I think a Navutu detox recipe book could be an incredible initiative I would certainly pay for it! The spa and treatments on offer are fairly priced and the spa staff are just amazing. I had a khemer coffee bean scrub, aromatherapy and khemer massages and all 3 were outstanding. All in all I really would come back without any doubt - I gained spiritual grounding & balance & lost 2 kilos! Navutu staff are like a family & so warm & welcoming. Nothing is too much. In the interests of a balanced review I will also mention the slight downsides. I was a bit disappointed w the way I was treated when I checked out as had my bank card stolen in Bangkok I was relying on transferring money to another card to pay for things. I suddenly felt was being treated in a v patronising way as tho i was going to pull a fast one and not pay which left me quite upset. The only other area for improvement for me would be when the room staff are cleaning not to bring their bag of rubbish with them to each room as it attracts mosquitos. All in all Navutu is a very special place with a unique ethos and I look forward to returning with my family soon.

Room tip: They are all beautiful !!

This is a review that I wish I could have read before booking this hotel!! Having been recommended this hotel from a friend who stayed 3 years ago and reading about all the positive reviews I had high expectations for this resort/hotel. Unfortunately it didn't deliver for me. I was overall left quite disappointed.

I'll start with the positives though. The gardens and pool areas are well maintained and pretty to look at. It does feel like a zen retreat with soft music playing and pool configurations. Mostly it can be private but doesn't take many people at all to spread out and lose that privacy as it is a small property for the amount of accomodation it provides.

The bed was comfortable and the room had a nice touch with dual showers and sinks with possibility of connecting rooms if staying with the family.

The location is fine and the tuk tuk drivers working within the hotel are very nice, speak good English and is really handy to have included in your stay when getting around. However, it's specified that you have 12 hours a day access which isn't exactly correct as the day you check in or few hours you have on the day you check out is expected so count that day as gone. It's suggested that they take you anywhere but other then the city you will pay extra to the hotel depending on the destination you go to roughly between $8-$30 more. Importantly it's noted that you will pay taxes (special tax???, VAT & service fee) on top of everything so it works out more.

The drinks were good but resort prices which is to be expected. I have to say the cocktails were some of the best we've had in Cambodia but there is also more taxes to be added. I've stayed at other places and I know for certain that I much prefer just to see total price inclusive of taxes rather then having loads of extras placed on top when paying the bill.

I didn't eat the food so can't comment on that during lunch and dinner however did have the breakfast buffet which was included in the room cost. The coffee was ok, and the fruit & juice selection good. They had a eggs station and the chef made all choices of eggs for you however the buffet selection was basically the same each time and pretty ordinary. The sausages were actually inedible and then fairly limited choice after you consider pancake, cereal, noodles. For a health retreat pitched venue the healthy options were not catered for.

Internet is terrible unless you are around the pool. Connection is very poor and drops in and out regularly inside the rooms. Brought it up twice with reception and told they would look at it with no follow up. Tv is small and looks like an afterthought to the room. Room cleaning and turn down service cleans the rooms quite well however was told you get two bottles of water at morning and also evening. This did not happen. Complimentary toiletries were limited for a 4.5 star. No toothbrushes, tooth paste, no slippers, no body lotion. Not that it really mattered but I'm just comparing to other places I've stayed at. The sound dock did not work properly. The sound changed constantly as soon as the speaker wire was moved and very hard to get the right position. It was just better not to use it as was very frustrating. blown and terrible sound. The lighting in the rooms just feels a little too low to be comfortable and could do with a brighter main light before switching to the lower lights when getting ready for bed. Also make sure you bring repellent. I think it would be worthwhile for mgmt to consider placing mosquito coils on room patios during turn down service as you get eaten alive even with jungle spray on.

The yoga class is good and in a very nice setting however the timing is terrible mid week. Yoga is offered once per day and is in the middle of breakfast service. On the weekends it's offered twice a day and much more thought put into the timing of a morning and afternoon session but not worth paying for if you plan on doing tours etc.

The gym is not a gym. It is 4 cardio machines and some light hand weights.

Overall this place needs a face lift. It's visually pleasing as per all other reviews but lacks a lot of substance. It may have been great a while ago but hasn't kept its standards up to date unfortunately. For the price per night I would definitely be looking else where.

Dear HaydenBlake

Warm greetings from Navutu Dreams.

We appreciate your taking the time to write your feedback. We regret that you were not entirely pleased with your stay. There were little details you cited which has taken me by surprise; for instance, the complimentary water in the room for the morning and in the evening, the provision of body lotion next to the soap between the dual vanities as these are part of our most basic set-ups. So is setting up the mosquito coils on each room's terrace. I must say that this is the first time, a guest has mentioned not having them and is entirely contradictory to the rest of the feedback we get on a daily basis.

I apologize if the internet was not very stable while you were here. We did bring this up with the our internet provider given the fluctuations all around the city last week.

It seems that there was a misunderstanding re the use of the tuk-tuk. As while we do provide the tuk-tuk to guests who have booked directly or through online travel agents, it only covers transfers to and from the city center and the Angkor Wat area. Some areas including certain temples way beyond these points such as Beng Melea which applied in your case, are indeed charged a fee given the lengthy distance from the resort and the city.

We understand your comments on the taxes. Regrettably, government regulations dictate that they are itemized on the guest folio. We will however take into consideration having nett prices displayed on the menus for the ease of our guests.

I believe we have met during your stay. I wish I heard these concerns from you then only as I would have been pleased to assist you and ensured you had a good over-all experience.

We wish you safe travels.

Kind regards,

Sarah Moya

Just arrived here and first impressions amazing. Staff absolutely lovely and very helpful. Our room is beautiful with everything we should need. Greeted with a handmade scarf each on the bed was a lovely touch. Currently sitting on a deck chair on our verandah watching the rain and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

This is a small boutique hotel set around 3 different pools with a very good restaurant in the middle.
The rooms are large and have huge bathrooms with double sinks and separate showers and toilets. Beds were comfy and air con works well. Our room was 4 steps to a pool and 6 steps to the restaurant. The food is very good for all meals and breakfast is included. the fruit juices are divine especially the passion fruit juice.
Staff are very helpful and the whole place is immaculate.
We had a daily tuk-tuk driver Mr Tha who was a gem. He took us to the temples and to dinner and the circus, always smiled and was always there when he said he would be.
If you like small hotels, set in lush, beautiful gardens and good, fresh food and a relaxed atmosphere then this is the place for you.

Room tip: There are only about 30 rooms and all are quiet.

Absolutely enjoyed our 3 nights stay here! First off the staffs are very courteous, knowledgeable and have good command of english. They were very helpful with restaurant/attractions recommendation and bookings.

Our room booking came with complimentary daily tuk tuk ride that could fit 4 adults and it saved us the hassle from finding our own transport. It was under 10 mins ride to the old market and about 20 mins to the temples.

We also loved that the 2 salt water and 1 fresh water pool were within a few steps from our room yet not too near that invaded any privacy.

Breakfast was good and fresh, the Khmer local food with their spices were really delicious. On our third day, the kitchen had already packed our breakfast in a picnic basket so that we could bring it along to enjoy the sunrise at Angkor Wat!

Overall the resort promotes wellness. I enjoyed the spa massage session and could have a quality sleep after that. Daily yoga classes are also available. It is also a family friendly resort that provides babysitting services too. Highly recommended for a cosy stay and their impeccable service!
