My husband and I stayed at the Villa for four days and enjoyed great atmosphere with clean rooms, a nice view of the Mekong and breakfast on the balcony. Our butler Lan was very helpful and friendly. Thanks to him, we didn't have any problems going back and forth between the villa and downtown. They have a complimentary sunset river cruise for the guests of Burasari and it was a nice experience for us to ride on a boat seeing the riparian areas. I personally enjoyed talking to a young pleasant hotel clerk named Year on the boat. We also had dinner at the restaurant in Burasari Heritage one night and the food was very good. It sure was a leisurely vacation for us staying at the villa.

Dear erinkm713,

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are delighted to know that Lan took good care of you during your stay in our lovely Villa on the Mekong River! It is indeed a tranquil and relaxing retreat - a true taste of Luang Prabang living with easy access to the historic center of the city. I will extend your thanks to Mr. Lan and Mr. Year.

This was a very nice spot with a fantastic view, great for sundowners overlooking the Mekong. Rooms were spacious and terrace was great. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is about 3kms to LP centre. The bikes are just ok (we named ours “Bertha” and “Beulah”). We didn’t mind the pedal into town. You could walk if you really wanted. If you’re coming back at night, I wouldn’t want to walk. They can also arrange for a shuttle or Tuk-Tuk. The other down side for some will be lack of restaurant options. There are just one or two places close by. Also, they neighbourhood is more of a traditional one -it’s not a tourist area. I think that adds to the experience though. There were also roosters that crowed early. If that’s not your thing, it may be disturbing. Still, I give it 5 stars.

We had the hotel arrange a Tuk-to that took us on a great day adventure. We started at Kuang si falls, followed by the butterfly sanctuary, and then the buffalo farm. Loved each one! The buffalo farm was surprisingly interesting and they are doing fantastic work with the farming community. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT ELEPHANT TREKKING!! It is cruel and the elephants are abused. Just look at their ears - they are shredded by the Mahout’s bull hooks. Educate yourself by visiting the Wildlife Friends Foundation of Thailand.

Dear McLeod9,

Thank you for your kind feedback. Indeed, the Villa is in a traditional neighborhood on the Mekong River. And, while we are out of town, as you said, it allows guests to experience local living and we do provide complimentary tuk-tuks and bikes for transport. I am happy to hear that you took full advantage of your stay, found the Villa relaxing and enjoyed the cultural and natural sites around Luang Prabang.

Kind regards,

Such a great place to stay! Everything from the moment we landed and were picked up in a vintage Mercedes to the attention to detail in the room and the pool were just fabulous. The villa is just outside of town but Lan (the butler) arranged Tuk Tuks for us whenever we wanted to go. It’s just a 5 minute journey. Breakfast is served on your balcony each morning which is a lovely touch and enjoying your breakfast while overlooking the Mekong river is a unique experience.
When we arrived Lan made sure we had everything we needed and gave us a local map and some tips on how much to pay for things etc. We were also given a phone in case we needed to contact him for anything. The room itself was lovely and very clean.
The pool was great although too cold to swim in but nice to sit around for an afternoon.
The villa is just what we were looking for relaxing and peaceful.
Thank you Lan for making our stay so great!
A must if visiting Luang Prabang is Phonhuehang Cafe. Unfortunately we went on our last night otherwise we would have been more than once but the food is fab! Traditional Laos food - definitely try the bo bun, fried spring rolls and the Penang curry!

We booked 2 nights and had a great stay. Our stay included airport pick up and drop off (which was awesome, we loved riding in the vintage Mercedes). Lots of personal attention at this hotel, amazing breakfast, great view, excellent location, and we loved the rustic charm of the room. The only negative points we have: we had booked a room with a king bed, and the bed was a queen, also beware, the bed was quite firm.

A big, cosy masterhouse on the border of the Mekong river, under the direction of « Laan », at your personal service 24/24, will offer you a peaceful holiday in Luang Prabang.
Large rooms facing the river, nice view ,swimming pool, bikes at your disposal. One phone you can keep with you, so wherever you are, whatever you would need, just call and Laan will solve the problem.
Proximity of the center for shopping, a large range of sportive and cultural activities will enable you to make a nice memory of this place and of this charming laotian town. We enjoyed it a lot. Thank you for your kindness, discretion and hospitality.
