We stayed here for the second week of our honeymoon in Croatia after spending the first week on a cruise ship. The transfer from the ship to the hotel was interesting as we were able to see the hotels of other passengers and we were definitely left thinking, "We booked the best one," when we arrived. The views from our room (6th floor) took our breath away.
It is somewhat confusing that when you walk in at the front into the lobby you are on the 9th floor and the floors are numbered backwards but you get used to it. The room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely balcony. The bathroom was very clean, again spacious and probably the best hotel bathroom I have experienced. Better than some people's bathrooms at home I feel.
We made use of the pools and the open sea!, the gym (which I feel was the weakest part of the hotel but I find this to be the case in most hotels anyway), the laundry service and room service. Everything was very professional and seamless and the room service was very tasty!
Getting into town was very easy and convenient as the bus stop is directly opposite the hotel and run frequently. If you get the Dubrovnik Card you get 10 free journeys (if I remember correctly) on the buses.
The district of Lapad is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel down the road and is full of places to eat and drink. We went there most nights and it has a lovely atmosphere.
Opposite the hotel there is also a sort of equivalent of a National Park with a trail/path which you can use to create a loop if you fancy going for a run or a walk. It is a bit steep initially though.
Overall I would choose to stay here if we ever return to Dubrovnik and it was perfect for our honeymoon. We remember our week here with great fondness.

Very clean and somewhat clinical in appearance. Not all that unusual for European hotels. However, rooms are much smaller than most other hotels. Would be very difficult with smaller kids, everyone would be on top of each other, especially after you spread out your suitcase. There is NO PLACE to put it that's not in the way. Pool nice and friendly staff.

At first when you walk into the sprawling lobby, it does appear dim, demure and not a five star.........

We arrived quite late in the afternoon, and were given rooms on the 5th floor, the lobby is on the 9th floor....... a little confusing, but the view from everywhere is simply spectacular.

We had balcony's and that made quite a difference, to simply sit outside with our tea or a drink......Rooms had good amenities and everything worked. The air conditioning was the only sticking point as it is centrally controlled and Temp is set at 24 degrees Celsius......... so cool but could be cooler!

The service level of this hotel could put many a 5 star to shame, from reception to House keeping to restaurant staff........ each and every one without exception was simply very good. My congratulations to the HR, recruitment and training manager for putting such a great team in place.

Breakfast is a huge spread of hot and cold dishes , served on the roof top terrace , which is simply amazing.

Good spa and indoor and out door pool.

The hotel is 10 minutes away from the old town, so ideally situated to give you best of both sides of this great city. There is direct bus from the hotel to the Old Town, which is well worth using.

All in all great Hotel............

Room tip: anything above 5th floor is great.

Returned on Sunday from a wonderful stay at this outstanding hotel.
Had originally planned to spend this week following the Tour de France however it has been a tough few months with a family illness and bereavement. Therefore decided to recharge my batteries on a relaxing holiday.
I couldn't have picked anywhere better. Dubrovnik is a beautiful city and the hotel was the perfect base from which to view it.
The whole of the staff from the general manager to the room attendant were efficient, courteous and welcoming.
Each morning the breakfast staff were smiling and helpful and that set the mood of the day. Loved the top floor indoor pool for a morning dip after a light wake up work out in the gym. The spa staff were always smiling with warm greetings.
I have to say I left wondering if I could find faults with the place and found only one minor one. It would be nice if the sun loungers had a small thin mattress. Am I being pedantic? Yes. But otherwise this was the perfect holiday. Thank you Dubrovnic Palace.

Room tip: The higher floors have the less impeded views, impeded by trees that is.

Booked a superior room with sea view for a week - the room and the view did not disappoint! Perhaps one of the friendliest hotels I've ever stayed in - all of our interactions with the staff were just so pleasant. I was initially a little concerned at the distance of the hotel from the centre of Dubrovnik but we did quite frequently walk to/from the centre (40 - 60 minutes depending on the route) and the fact that the Number 4 bus runs from just outside the hotel was a bonus (running abut every 15 minutes until the early hours). I was very impressed with the breakfast service; at times it was quite busy but fresh food was always available, your table was constantly cleared and, again, the staff were just so friendly and helpful. We did spend most of our time away from the hotel but did use the roof terrace on one day, just through from the in door pool - this was quieter and less crowded than at the outdoor pool. My other half used the gym on a couple of occasions, and the in door pool, and I ran through the woods and up the adjacent hill on two mornings. If I wanted to be picky an area I'd suggest for improvement is to have at least one of the bars open a bit later and to have some more lively music playing - we did get back on a couple of nights around 11:30pm (not that late really) and even the outside bar at the pool was getting ready to close.

Room tip: Use the No. 4 bus service for Dubrovnik - it terminates at the hotel & stops at the old town. Tickets are 20% cheaper from the hotel.
