This place was our "splurge" accommodations of our 10 day trip in Croatia as we were staying 3 nights in Dubrovnik and I wanted a nice place to rest after 10 hours in flight travel. I was super excited to stay here as it looked beautiful in the pictures and was highly rated. It was indeed very spacious (probably bigger than our real apartment), very clean and nicely decorated. The two of us were put in the one bedroom on the first floor from the entrance.

We had a number of issues during our stay in late June. First, although we got hot water the first night, we did not the second night as we accidentally turned off the hot water switch when we left for the day. The hosts did not warn us ahead of time to keep that switch on the whole time, so I thought when you switched it on, you would get hot water. Our other hosts at other places did tell us to keep that switch on the whole time. Second, the WiFi was incredibly slow. We probably would've gone mad if we didn't have our own data through our phone carrier. Third, the washing machine was broken and they didn't supply any detergent so we bought our own at the local grocery store. This turned out to be a waste of money as we weren't able to use the machine. How hard is it to give your guests some laundry detergent for a couple US dollars / ~40 kuna? There was a coffee machine but no coffee provided. Why provide these amenities if guests have to pay extra to use them? I felt it would be more gracious of the hosts to provide these small items and at a low cost to them. Fourth, the thing to hold up the shower head was broken so we had to hold the shower head in our hand. This is just one of my pet peeves as I find it takes me longer to shower.

The positive of this place is that it is located right in the heart of the city walls so it is very easy to get anywhere quickly. The con of this is that it's right next to the church which seemed to ring its bells every 30 minutes to an hour. This didn't disturb us at night while we were sleeping but was somewhat annoying. We took the airport bus that dropped us off at pile gate which was easy and very affordable. Don't take the hosts' shuttle as it drops you off at ploce gate and there are more steps to endure to get to the apartment. The hosts responded fairly quickly to our inquiries but I wouldn't stay here again. They did let us keep our luggage here for a later check out while we visited Lokrum island, which was nice.

The location of these apartments cannot be beat. We got the 2 bedroom unit on the top floor, the 2 story one. It was nice having the bedrooms on the bottom floor as there are already a few flights of stairs to get there. The living room was very nice and had fantastic views. It's a great place to feel like home!

This is a self-catering apartment and should not be compared to a hotel. We ordered transfer from the airport and back, which worked fine. The apartment is spacious with the bedroom and bathroom on one level and living-room with kitchen on the other level. All rooms are big. Heating / AC and wi-fi worked fine. It was cold during our stay and we missed heating in the bathroom, but this should not be a problem in summer. The location is great in the centre of the old town. The building is on main street level, not in the steep sides of the town, which means there are stairs only inside the building, not to reach it.

We had an apartment on two floors at the very top of the building. The stairs are a bit testing when carrying cases but otherwise ok if you are reasonably fit. This is what we thought at the time.
Location - perfect. We often nipped back to drop things off or pick things up and you are never more than 5 minutes away from anywhere in the old town. You are also just a ten minute walk form the taxi drop off point.
Top Floor - small kitchen set up with just enough of what you needed. We ended up making breakfast and it was perfect for that. The TV was not much good for us as we could not find anything in English but having said that, you would not find TV in Croatian in England.
Bottom Floor - bathroom fine. Only issue that my wife noted was that the blind was not long enough so people could see part of you. Not a problem for me though. We also ran short of toilet rolls and had to make some calls to get some more. There are no maids so anything you need you have to make a call for. The bedroom was fine although we did not that the safe was only attached to a shelf in the wardrobe which could not be locked. It looked as if it could just be taken out. The apartment though felt perfectly safe so we soon forget this.
The apartment has a quaint feel to it with exposed beams and is nothing like a corporate hotel room. This felt exactly right and in keeping with where we were. It is also next t a church so you do hear bells every hour - and also a quick tinkle on the half hour. Can't say it bothered us though.
The acid test is would you go back and it is a definite yes for us. It was ideal for what we wanted and was clean and well maintained. Juts make sure that you can handle the stairs and are not put off by the bells and you will have a great time.

Room tip: Don't go for top floor unless you can handle the stairs

This apartment is a true home away from home, nicely decorated with lovely views of the Dubrovnik rooftops and located smack in the middle of everything. We loved being able to step right out into the center of the Old Town with all it's beautiful sights. We would also happily stay here again if we come back, One minor thing to take into consideration; there are quite a number of stairs to climb to get to the apartment, very good exercise and we did not mind but could be trying for anyone with trouble walking
