Let me start by saying I'm a California girl and this route really reminded me of driving along Highway 101 in Cali. We drove from Dubrovnik through Bosnia-Herzegovina, and on to Trogir. The vistas along the way were literally BREATHTAKING, the turquoise waters, vineyards, cypress trees and deserted Croatian beaches below made for worthy picture stops. Along the way were TONS of vendors selling Limoncello, wine, nuts, fruits and vegetables all locally grown - delicious! My husband had some concerns about driving thru Bosnia, but in all honesty - they barely stopped us in our rental car!! We rolled the window down, said "Hello" and handed them our passports - they stamped 'em and said "Goodbye" as they handed back our passports. That was it!! No eastern block police to search your car!! Lol!! :) Easy-breezy country entry and exit! I think this is a great way to really SEE Croatia's wonderful coastal cities, to meet the real people, and to experience Croatia's various landscapes in person.
