Owner description: Designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry, the Biomuseo is his only work in Latin America and the tropics. The building was designed to tell the story of how the isthmus of Panama rose from the sea, uniting two continents, separating a vast ocean in two, and changing the planet's biodiversity forever.
Useful Information: Wheelchair access, Food available for purchase, Activities for older children, Bathroom facilities

The Biomuseo is definitely worth a stop if nothing else to see the incredible Frank Gehry architecture. It's a quick walk through and will hold the interest of people who are not huge museum goers. The architecture is great too!

Dear aficianada:

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to review us; we are so happy you enjoyed your visit to the Biomuseo.

We have started the construction of the three new gallery exhibits (including the aquarium), that should be ready in January 2019. We are also constructing three new stations in our Park of Biodiversity which we'll inaugurate next May. We hope you may visit us again.

Regards,

Roberto Maduro

This was a wonderfully curated museum. I learned a lot, enjoyed the view and had fun. It was a bit smaller than I had hoped but well worth a visit to learn more about the country.

What a great surprise even though the Museum looks big because its architecture, it is a compact place full of great information. I was impressed of how much I learned about how the The American Continent was connected through the Isthmus of Panama and how much this bridge of life impacted our continent...some exhibitions are in progress. Waoo the staff is amazing eager to help and teach you...Especially in the first part of the museum pay attention to the colors, shapes of the walls everything have a meaning ask about. The Architect took in consideration so many details about the history, the evolution of the Isthmus to built this museum. Enjoy the view from the café ..walk to the gardens, admire the Fig tree.. Also the museum is located in a beautiful place call the Causeway you can see ship from the canal, you can rent bikes like 3 minutes away from the museum etc..

Fascinating bio diversity exhibition in an iconic building designed by the architect Frank Gehry. Entrance for non Panamanian visitors is $16 per person. An interesting account of the impact on wildlife in pre-historic times of the formation of the land bridge between north and South America and a short, but great, 360 degree audio visual presentation on the bio-diversity of Panama.
A small café serving snacks and drinks.
Lovely grounds in which further exhibition areas are currently being developed.
Allow at least an hour for your visit and allow time to watch the ships starting their voyage to and from the Panama Canal.
The museum is easily reached by public transport and has its own bus stop.

The museum was designed by Frank Gehry and can be seen from many places in Panama City because of the bright colors of its roofs. It was fascinating with the images of animals and birds which have travelled from and to North and South America. We came out of the museum with a greater understanding of the America(s) A must see
