“Small Ottoman bridge lost in modern day Tirana”
Review of Tanners' Bridge

Tanners' Bridge
Reviewed 31 May 2018

The bridge is next to a very busy road, and the size of the bridge is not at all in keeping with the rest of its surroundings by which it is dwarfed. One can still walk over it, but there is no longer water flowing under it. There are nicer Ottoman bridges in the country, but this one is easy walk from the city centre through a nice area, so well worth the stroll.

This is a simple Ottoman bridge - Tirana was not a major town in the Ottoman period with other places in Albania like Berat ans Shkoder being much more important and larger. It is pleasant and a short walk from Skanderbeg Square, near many other things.

It's just a small old bridge. Nice to look at when you pass it but certainly not worth making a detour for.

Obviously there is a lot of history behind this bridge. Sadly it now stands neglected.

Groups of man gathered on it which put us off photographing but in all honesty I wouldn't say it's worth the trip to see anyway.

A pity

“A really old bridge” I was told.
Okay, so let’s have a look. Literally a stone bridge. It’s nice, I wouldn’t go out of my way to see it. In the dark, a little uneven footing, could actually be dangerous with today’s health and safety
