Good collection of shops, a supermarket, and speciality stores, lots of attentive staff, good quick service, well suited to handling large groups from cruise ships. Lots of local products, as well as the usual tourist "junk". and the supermarket had a good range of Aussie brands as well at good prices. Very friendly staff and people, excellent experience.

This was our second visit, the first a few years ago also by cruise ship. We walked right to it, and they still had very nice fairly priced wood carvings supposedly made on the island. Made there or not, they are well done at a fair price.

Service people on the floor are helpful, without being pushy.

Tappoo City is an amazing place to shop to your hearts desire and then eat till you can't eat anymore.
The Food Court is excellent with a wide range of restaurants.
Would recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing day off.

Soulless branded shops, tacky, ugly mall that might as well be in any city. Only saving graces: a food court on the top floor and it's open on public holidays.

Bula to all was the greeting here, but this town has two sides to it when walking about. On the one hand you have rows and rows of shops, none of them outstanding and non of them air conditioned, making more than 5 minutes in them an uncomfortable experience.
Not to mention some of the staff were either very pushy, or just follow you about like we were about to drop something in our bags and slip outside!.My wife was in need of a toilet break and we were directed across the street to a dingy shopping mall where one had to pay 20 cents to use the toilet and each extra sheet of toilet paper was an additional 20 cents. Maybe the locals byo?
Thankfully there is Tappoo City, a modern look at the sort of shopping centres us soft westerners are used to, with air conditioning , nicely laid out shops, cafes and plush modern toilets should the need arise. Even a cinema should you want to kill an hour or two for only six dollars local currency!
The main shop had a good variety of souvenirs, clothing and materials plus some everyday needs, and lots of wooden ornaments to tempt you to take back home. We were a bit worried about bringing them back to Australia with its tough stance on quarantine, but the staff assured us these items had all been treated and provided a receipt to indicate that when we returned to Australian jurisdiction.( this proved to be correct when we returned and declared the items to customs control)
Lovely café upstairs that took Aussie money for some very tasty morsels and strong coffee as we relaxed with our purchases. Sadly, the rest of Lautoka did not have too much more to offer us.
