We were fortunate enough to have stayed here during our holidays and we would highly recommend this place to any family or couple looking for a very tropical hotel in a major city.
We were blown away by how lush and tropical this hotel was, the view from our balcony was hard to believe that the craziness of Singapore was just minutes away.

The pool and beach were perfect for our kids and they especially loved the kids club.

We also all enjoyed the buffet breakfasts and buffet dinners which are on the very pricey side but worth it.

This resort is a must do if you’re in Singapore but book well in advance because it’s so popular

I stayed at Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort in July for one week with my wife, 9 year old son and 2 year old daughter. We had an amazing stay overall. The facilities are excellent and the staff very attentive. The incredible breakfasts were the highlight for us. The array of choices and quality of the food was superb. The whole family loved it. There was occasionally a short queue for a table in the morning, however, it wasn't too onerous. The only negative was that the outdoor breakfast seating area was not cleaned very well after the previous guests had vacated the table. For this reason we elected to eat inside on the other 6 days where the seating areas were cleaner. It should be noted that this hotel is very much catered for families, so if you would like a quiet place as a couple I would advise going onto the mainland.
My son and daughter loved the pool. There was a suitable pool for both their ages. My son also enjoyed the slides.
Room service was timely and the food once again fantastic. I treated myself to the fillet mignon on one night and the steak was cooked to perfection.
Our room was sizeable (pool view deluxe room) and was big enough for the 4 of us. The room did have an off putting odour which was evident later in the morning. Whether or not this was from the drains I'm unsure? After servicing the room smelt beautiful and fresh again.
I brought this to the attention of Eris the duty manager and he gave me the option of moving rooms. We elected not to do this due to the logistical side of things with all 4 of us. The management said that they would ensure the room was cleaned and freshened early each day. The following day the room had still not been serviced by 4.30pm when we entered the room as my daughter needed a nap. This was disappointing and I brought it to the attention of Eris, the duty manager. Eris offered a $150 dining voucher which I felt was just what was required. It ensured that I still had a favourable view of the hotel as a whole.
The hotel is close to all the attractions. We walked to the Luge which my son and I loved. I'm glad I didn't put my 2 year old on the chair lift associated with the Luge (an option for us), as the height would have freaked her out (just a single metal bar offering safety protection). We caught the free bus 'A' to the central park area (aquarium and water park - both amazing). Just a 10 minute bus ride.
Staff-wise, Faith and Roy were excellent in the fun club making balloons for both my kids as we waited for breakfast.
I would like to mention Richard who was handing out the pool towels in the towel booth for our entire stay. Richard retained a happy smile for the entire time and could not have been friendlier despite a fairly monotonous task. I'd appreciate if his excellent attitude could be rewarded in some way should the hotel manager read this summary.
We will certainly be back.

We spent a week vacation at Sentosa and stayed at Rasa Sentosa. while i found the hotel a bit too on the commercial side at the reception area and welcoming / departure - the hotel staff and team have been great during our stay! The pool is quite big but was too overcrowded.... the food is fabulous and the Chef was very attentive to our special requests. It is indeed a very children friendly resort.
