A good place to stay. Staff are very friendly, helpful and speak good English. Rooms are small, as they all are in Hong Kong. But with clothes in the wardrobe and suitcases being able to be put in the corner, the room works well. Good size bathroom with a proper shower which is also rare in a cheap hotel these days in Hong Kong. Free WIFI. A short walk from the Airport Flyer bus stop, and a street away from Temple Street Markets. So many places to eat near by and Welcome and Park n Shop supermarkets are very close. Jordan MTR station is a few minutes walk. away. I will stay here again

If you're looking for a clean place to sleep and absolutely nothing else, this is the place for you. The room was even smaller than expected with a tiny tinted window that doesn't open. If you can afford more, pay more for somewhere else. If you're on a budget this place is workable - clean, easy walking to Jordan metro station, fairly priced.

BEWARE claustrophobics this is not an easy room to sleep in if you get anxiety in small windowless spaces.

If you're travelling solo and spending all day out in the city, it's not so bad. If you are a couple, this place is a major romance killer.

I am staying here for three nights. For the price I paid, I don't expect too much, however, it is disappointing! My room is small even for an average size Asian. While the room looks modern, it has no fridge, no safe, no free water and no soap or shampoo. I asked the front desk, she said that they no longer order their supplies anymore! The integrated shower/bathroom is horrible. You can easily twisted and hurt yourself, if you are not careful! The location is good for shopping at Temple street or getting a companion! It is located four big blocks from The Jordan subway station. Beware if you have heavy luggage. However, it is a short distance to the Airport Express bus stop. In summary it is no more than a glorified hostel! If I have to do it again, this "hotel" will be on my very last choice if nothing is available and for a very short stay!

Room tip: considered quiet, window is locked, no fridge, no soap or shampoo & no free bottle of water

We stayed at the The Shai Hotel, formerly known as The Mingle in Shai.

Close to Nathan Road, Temple street market (literally a road behind the hotel) and Jordan Rd station. The hotel is close by to one of the famous markets, so for that reason it sufficed. However, it is situated in a bit of a dodgy part where buses don't drive down. Needless to say when we arrived we had to walk to the hotel from the Eaton Hotel in Nathan Road as the shuttle transfer and most buses don't go down that way. There's probably a valid reason, but I've seen other buses come past the hotel during the day, so what's up with that?

The rooms were very small probably 3x3m with the bathroom only allowing one person in at a time, literally. In all fairness we just needed a place to sleep as we wanted to shop and sightsee, but hells bells this place took it to another level! It's equivalent to a Formula 1 hotel, but a little more upmarket. You could switch the lights and aircon on and off from the bed as the switches were located on the wall next to it. Did I mention that the bed fit's in between the walls with no space to move around it?

We discovered on the last night that there's free porn on the HDMI channel, which kind of made sense as we've noticed how freely the girls hang about outside the hotel... Also, the switch against the wall by the bed area had a button for "Room busy" and would signal that outside the room door by means of a red light, so that made us realise what "kind" of hotel we were in - Mingle much!

Was not impressed that I had to go outside to smoke as there was smoke detectors in the room and bathroom. A friend smoked his vape in the room and it triggered the detectors, so no allowance for smokers makes it a no go for me. Strangely enough we could smell smoke in the lobby area... I was not surprised to have smelled the smoke as we all known that after action satisfaction, right?! LOL

Definitely wouldn't return and especially not with kids.
