Cons:
1.Not closer to any MTR..shuttle srvc available to Tseun wan MTR every 30-40 mins but gets full faster and you have to Q up
2.Its in the outskirts meaning no shops no restaurants around
3.Staff is very unwelcoming and unfriendly. I wish they could source staff from Thailand who are much much nicer and sweeter besides the language barrier
4.No emphathy or attention to detail...Our early arrival at 9 am after our red eye flight was ignored ..no place to wait ..we had to Q up to take the damn shuttle and roam around till 3 pm bfr we could freshen up..They missed to notice my birthday too
5.Rooms are very tacky..the glass work etc doesnt give a good feel for the amount of money paid. Bathrooms are not well stocked for eg..the shampoo and shower gel comes out of the same dispenser !!

Stay in this hotel for 2 nights. When we entered the first room, a strong mouldy smell came out from the room. We requested to change another room. Reception then changed us another room on the same level. The second room was still have the same mouldy smell but not that stronger than the first one. We also found that all the room had covered a lot of dust. (Included carpet and table) At night when opened the air conditioning, dust flying in the air all night. We needed to cover our months with musk and clothes when slept. On the next day, we walked through all the levels in the hotel. We found that only 2 levels (L16 & L17) did not have the smell. Then we asked to change the other room again. We weren't back again.

Spent the weekend at the Royal View and it didn't disappoint. The rooms are cozy and well appointed with a great view overlooking the beach. Room is quiet which is very important since the whole point of the "getaway" is to recharge...what better way than to get a good night's sleep without noise to disturb you. There were many families there but the staff managed everything with good coordination and were cheerful throughout. Overall, can't fault anything with this experience and will definitely revisit in the future.

The room interior spells kitschy. You could see some glue on the wall, some pink tacky glass swan decor on top of a shelf. The receptionist was unwelcoming - to think I mentioned it was my birthday when I checked in. I did not ever feel special staying here. There is a stench in the bathroom sewage which was present upon check-in and throughout the duration of our stay. The line at the shuttle bus to the MTR is quite long. If it gets full, you'd have to wait half an hour for it to come back to the hotel.
The only pleasant people I encountered were the breakfast waiters and waitresses at the hotel restaurant.
It's quite pricey to stay here but their service is nothing special. Ngong Ping cable car is their nearest attraction aside from Disneyland.
I also have to mention that an area of their room carpet was damp upon check-in and their room telephone was dusty.
No special attention to detail for this hotel. I will try other hotels next time - not this one.

I stayed at the Royal View hotel for 6 months and the stay was pretty good. The overall hotel stay experience was pretty good. I stayed there on lease and the facilities provided were excellent. The hotel staff were very helpful. Especially had a good time with Cody Lee, who provided me excellent support when i wanted to reach out to someone in the hotel for something.

The view from my room was excellent. The room service was good at times, though not always but overall it was a decent experience.

There is a beach just 5 mins away from the hotel, either side and it is a pretty decent place to spend time.

Overall a good time. For a budget hotel, would certainly recommend.

Room Tip: I personally liked the beach view rooms, although mountain view rooms along with themed rooms are good too.
