I was always suspect about the out-of-the-way location of this hotel but after a 5-day stay here I'm converted and it's now on my top list of places to stay away from the madding crowds of Hong Kong Metro.
OK the hotel is tucked away in the shadow of a major bridge which sounds a bit off-putting but with views of the bay, pleasantly swimmable beaches both sides and a charming village to explore below on the bayside, it's an appealing haven. Rooms are cleverly designed to fit in a little lounge area and kitchenette with micro-wave and the overall effect is compact but cozy. Rooms were clean, modern and well-maintained.
I know some complain about the hotel's shuttle bus service to Tsien Wan MTR but I found it efficient, frequent and reliable. A 10 minute ride puts you on the main line to Hong Kong (around 40 mins). Besides for great local shopping away from Hong Kong designer price tags, Tsien Wan has streets and streets of shops and malls with everything you can imagine (there's a whole street of shoe shops) and food in local cafs here is great. I can''t wait to go back and stay here again with my wifeMore
