The Buddha is well worthwhile to go and see. It is one of the three largest outdoor eating Buddhas in the world. For a small fee you can go inside the Buddha and view the relic.
There are two ways to see the Buddha - you can take a cable car to the small village area and walk to the Buddha or many tour companies will take you there.
One word of caution if you go via the cable car, you must climb 268 steps from the monastery to get to the Buddha. The tour companies will drive up to the top to allow you a easier access to the Buddha.
However way you choose to go this is one sight not to miss in Hong Kong.More
