My colleagues and I went to Yixin Restaurant at Hennessey Road for a business lunch for 6 people. We ordred the standard lunch menu and had excellent choice of 3 Dim Sums - prawn dumplings, siu mai and steamed dumplings. We had the roast duck and lemon chicken as the 2 main meat dishes as well as garoupa in hot pot and bean curd with thousand years' eggs and an excellent Chinese soup. All came to around HK$200 per head. The service was excellent and the lunch was served within one hour. Very good for busy Hong Kongers who need to return to office on time for business meetings in the afternoon.

The food here is consistently good. My favourite over three visits was the lemon chicken. The chicken is deboned for this one, deep fried and served with separate lemon sauce. The lemon sauce is fragrant and fruity, not cloying or over-sweet, which made this the best lemon chicken I have ever had. The barbecue items were also very good - roast duck and barbecue pork were to a high standard although foreigners should note that poetry is general served with bones, even after it has been chopped, which is the classic Cantonese style. The fried rice dishes are well done and the prawn toast excellent. Vegetable dishes were also good. The crab with egg white was interesting and we couldn't agree on whether it was wow or not very nice. I liked it although it was a bit eggy. Had dim sum on third visit and this was solidly four out of five. I would recommend avoiding vegetarian dim sum and the baos but the fresh squid and dishes in soup were very good. Service is top notch and friendly. Atmosphere is good and looks mainly local. Will be back.

4 of us were celebrating my birthday.
Food was declining since last visit. We had the lemon chicken, steam eggplant, deep fried cow's milk and something else so ordinary that I couldn't remember. The chicken was overdone which was quite tough, steam eggplant was overly salty the rest of the food was just ok. Paid nearly HK$1300 for 5 dishes which was quite expensive even to Hong kong standard. One thing good to command was the service, it's attentive yet unintrusive. If the food was better this could be a go to restaurant.

One of the eatery for true honest Cantonese cuisine. If you have time try to order the "Home style rice fed duck". It has to be ordered one day in advance. The other favorite of mine is the lemon sauce chicken. Dim sum is above average as well.

You probably would be able to find quite a lot of traditional dishes that are no longer available in most restaurants. The food tastes good especially barbecue stuff. You better pre-order as they are easily sold out especially during lunch hour on weekdays.
