I not to be missed trip if you are coming to Hong Kong. Try to avoid weekends and Chinese public holidays otherwise your wait is longer than the trip.

queue going up to the peak was horrifyingly long even on a weekday (we went there on Friday morning around 9am).
finally decide to take a cab to the top and came down by tram (came back around 1pm and very less crowd in queue). after 2pm, the queue going down starts to build up.

nice scenery to see hk island with optical illusion as though the buildings were all seems to be slanting when riding in the tram

Peak tramway
After reading many reviews about being stuck in queue for the tram, as decided to take a cab up and the tram down. A cab from HK Central was only $70 and once at the top, the tram line for the trip down was still at least 30mins long and $32 each person, hence the cab was cheaper and quicker for a group!

This is a must-do for anyone visiting HK. But beware the long wait times! We had the Peak Tram & Skydeck entry included with our Hop on/Hop off buss tickets, which we purchased at Central Ferry terminal after getting off the star ferry. By doing this we were able to skip to the front of the queue, but there was still a wait, so be prepared. The most unfortunate part of this ride was being jam packed onto each tram like sardines at the Tokyo subway....The trip up and down the peak is amazing. The skydeck would be great in good weather (we had a white out at the top due to low cloud and rain!) Lots of restaurants and shops, which is a lot different to the last time we made the journey. Worth doing.

There was a bit of a cue to get on the tram (maybe 45mins) but it’s fairly well organised. Going up is impressive and there are optical illusions where tower blocks look like they are tipping over. Once up there are restaurants shops and views. It’s a good day out
