It's an amazing experience from the tram ride to the top to the views and the food on top; it's all part of the experience.

Touristy places are always tricky. You know there will be loads of people, lots of queues but sometimes it just pays off regardless.
Alas, Victoria Peak isn’t one of those experiences. First of all, expect to queue for at least an hour (unless you maybe go first thing in the morning but probably even then). We went around sundown, which everybody seemed to recommend and regretted it the whole way. We queued for 2,5 hours for the tram, which was pretty cool, I admit, but a 5 minute ride totally not worth the time and money spent! You’d do better grabbing the bus number 15 and going up there for around 10 dollars each way, instead of around 50 return for tram.
When you have waited all this time to get up there, naturally you want to do the Sky Gallery - 360 degree viewing platform with views of the whole city. It costs you extra 50 (45 if you have Octopus card) and again - it’s not that expensive but for that time and money you mostly get some poor touristy pics and have to stand waiting for ages in order to get close to the railings in order to take them as there are just so many people taking photos! The whole thing is just located in this huge overpriced mall, which just seems like such a drag really. You don’t get to experience anything authentic or natural, it’s all just quite plasticky and tacky.
And then, the whole ordeal starts all over again when you want to go down. Again, the queue for the tram (and it’s rather windy and cool up there, you have to queue outside) looks like it takes 2 hours for you to get on the tram and back down. At which point we left the queue and walked to the nearby bus station. Also mobbed and had to queue but got finally on the third bus going down, “only” 45 minutes of waiting and it took us back down to Central station. All in all it took us 100 dollars and 5 hours to do it and we didn’t enjoy most of it. There are better tourist attractions in the world. This just isn’t worth the wait and the energy.

Interesting trip. Spectacular view and well worth the effort to get to the top. The shops could be a little more substantial. Would have liked a simple coffee or tea.

We really enjoyed the various views from the Peak. Get there as early as possible because we did, and did not wait in any lines, but when left we saw an entrance line out the door! But even if you wait in line this is an attraction you need to see

Public holiday after lunch at 1pm.
Tram was packed and ok in the begining but once near the tram(an hour without the combo ticket with madam tussard), it was chaotic as there were no more lines and people just elbow everyone else. I hate it.

The peak was so packed, you just queue into everywhere, toilet was the worst. Please don't drink much or get some adult diapers up here.
Outdoor was again full people and a super long queue in the middle of the courtyard for the returm tram, some dog walkers still try to walk their dogs in this crowd where their dog will poop on fancy flooring right in front of some people who were eating (ice cream gelato, picnic, mc d) or people resting which were horrible.
I hope to never return.
