Panoramic kind of view. Went during winter as such there was strong winds and it was very cold about 9 degrees. The best way to view Hong Kong.

Take the tram from the red line station admiralty. Do not try to catch the tram from intermediate stations, the tram is usually full and will not stop.
The queue for the tram gets pretty long.... Recommend to go there early. Your can use your octopus card on the tram.

Seniors get discount for the terrace.

After you get the tickets for the terrace, to the right of the ticket counter is an elevator of you do not want to go up the winding escalators.

The is one spot on the terrace with the view is the Hong Kong skyline. It gets extremely crowded and they have the official photographer at this spot. The view depends on the air quality and visibility. Check before you go.

This is extremely commercial and full of tourists.

The is a galleria next to it with more shops and a free observation deck but doesn't have the view of the Hong Kong skyline.

The Peak is a legendary place in HK you must be there. On a sunny day during day time or a dark moon night is equally good. To avoid the congested tram, you may alternatively go up there by taxi and come down by tram or vice versa. I went there during the day.

Good place to visit when you're in Hong Kong, but in my opinion, nothing special if you've seen plenty of big cities. The view is of a typical big city skyline, ie, buildings upon buildings. I guess what makes this one a bit different is that you could see the harbor and the ships sailing about. Definitely check it out at night as well since the buildings will be lit.
A good time to be up at the peak is around 5pm (in December), so you could catch the view during sunlight and sunset.

If you are brave enough to hike up then you will be able to soak up the views.

However if you are going to the peak by tram, it's best that you buy a return ticket that includes the sky terrace 428 to see the 360° view. Booking online is best as the queues are very long (usually an hour plus).

I have been once back in year 2000, so everything was planned for by family and I only remember queuing for about 30 minutes to get on to the tram. It was nice but pretty much the view you would get on a typical postcard.

My first time going without prebooking, I decided to skip the queue and go to the peak by an alternative route. Taking bus 15 (start point) at the ferry pier in Central (pier 5) which is cheap- 9.8HKD. The journey took 40 minutes and views were nice on the way up. The peak tower platform is free but the view is very limited and disappointing. I have included an image of the view. They have blocked off more of the area for further renovation.

Only after doing more research did I realise that an additional ticket for the sky terrace needs to be purchased to get the FULL 360° view. Tickets are 50HKD and can be purchased from the customer service desk on ground floor.

IF you haven't pre-booked your tram tickets. To save time you can still opt to go to the peak by bus (saves you 20.4 HKD). It's a minimal price difference to get the tram + sky terrace ticket in that case though. As tram return and sky terrace is 90HKD.
