From the get-go, this hotel was really hard to find. Google had the address wrong where it looked like it’s located within the shopping mall across the street from the hotel. It’s not. It’s the building directly next to the Mcdonalds with a few local eateries, a jewelry store and a pharmacy. You have to go inside and find the elevators and go to the fourth floor.
On first glance, my room looked okay, just tiny. The size of the room literally reached from the top of the bed on down to the foot (about five feet across). The bathroom/shower combo took up about half of the room. You are given one pillow and a set of house slippers. There was a tv set, ac, shampoo, toothbrush, toilet paper,, and a power strip to use. There was no electric water kettle, but there was a free water refill machine in the hallway that would give hot or cold water.
On closer inspection, the sheets didn’t seem to be the cleanest. There were small stains on the fitted sheet, pillow and douvet. The bathroom was a bit moldy. The toilet leaked water with every flush (imagine brown or yellow water seeping out onto the bathroom tiles!!!!). Also, the toilet itself didn’t refill its water consistently. I stayed here for a total of four nights. I thought it wouldn’t be so bad as I just needed a place to lay my head for the night while I went around sightseeing. However, every time I returned to my room, I would find at least two cockroaches. Once, a cockroach fell from the ceiling onto my pillow!!! I spent the rest of the nights anxiously worrying about if more would crawl on me as I slept. Not fun.
What really got me, was the sign above the light switching bribing customers for a good review. Supposedly if you left a good review, you’d receive a “free gift.”
Please, don’t stay here if you can help it. If I could have found a better place, I would have. Unfortunately, I came during China’s national week, and all the hotels in the area were booked.More
