Ok they got me with the free phone! This hotel provides a free mobile for you to use outside of the hotel. We turned on the wifi and made it the hotspot - so we could use our own phone with free wifi everywhere we went. It meant we could use our google maps to navigate and could watsapp my friends with photos everywhere we went. It made our trip SO much more enjoyable. Besides this the room were quite big for the Hong Kong standard. It was only a 2 min walk from the subway. We will come back to this hotel for sure!

Roomy but a little warn. Cleaning is adequate but a bit dusty. Dark corridor. Very noisy air conditioning. Nice helpful staff. Location is okay with lots of little shops and bars and food outlets. The overall neighbourhood is a bit grubby after coming from central Kowloon.

Room tip: My room was 12th floor but not a good view, not sure if there are better rooms.

Bought an Octopus card at the airport and had a hassle free trip on the MTR to the hotel, just a small walk from the station. Lovely clean hotel, and great buffet breakfast. Staff were amazing, really helpful and friendly. Even include the use of a smartphone for the duration of your stay. This includes free internet access and unlimited international calls. This was really useful as we had to make numerous calls regarding our onward flight to Bali due to the volcano. Only warning though, don't use the phone's GPS to navigate you through the city, due to the high rise buildings weekly getting rather lost. Stick to the old fashioned way, and pick up a map. I'd highly recommend this hotel!

Room tip: We had a room on the 7th floor which didn't have great views. I imagine it would have been better on a higher level.

The hotel is rather small and the location is close to the MTR station that is very comfortable. The Central Station is 800 meters away and it is better to use a taxi to get there. The executive one bedroom is large enough and well equiped. The beds are large and comfy. The breakfast is ok, but not a super. The front desk staff could sometimes be more attentive and some of them have a deep local accent in their English.

The wifi is doing well and the Handy phone you get for free (over your stay) is superb.

Buy an Octobus card for one or three days to use MTR, which is the easiest way to move in the city.

Even though the surrounding is not that nice, it feels safe. I surely would choose again.

Room tip: The executive one bedroom.

A lot of good and bad things.

Good:
The hotel is extremely well situated. Literally one block from the A2 exit of Sheung Wan subway station on the Central line.
The free phone was awesome. It even acts as a wifi hotspot so you can connect your other mobile devices charge free during your stay.
The room was well apportioned at this price point and location.

Bad:
Reception staff were efficient but less than engaged with the customer.
Room make up (not changing sheets) and response to 'do not disturb' was sub-optimal.
There was a horrid smell in the loo, like something died in there.
The shower/bath selector broke on day 2 out of 6. So just baths from then on. I wonder how they cleaned the bath to not notice or care that this didn't work.
I was there for 6 nights but not offered an upgrade to a higher floor or better room that many others have been. So I got a low floor that was noisy on the weekend.

I could have complained about some of these things at the time. I didn't because complaining makes me feel worse than just suffering does. A professional outfit shouldn't require you to kick up a fuss, things should just work.
