Yes, other cities have trams too, but when you're in Hong Kong you should definitely try riding the trams. You would experience how the trams navigate through the busy streets of Hong Kong and would definitely gave how the locals live in this city.

It only costs slightly more than HK2.3 (equivalent to around US 30 cents).

The Ding Ding is just a trolley car. As one who grew up in Brooklyn and rode trolleys as a matter of course, I don't know why this is even listed as an attraction. It doesn't pass through pretty scenery, is crowded and difficult to alight and descend from.

Serves as a reminder of how people travelled through the city in the past. The tram as such feels quite cramped after travelling in the buses that provide comfortable cushions. The trams are quite cheap compared to buses but travel slow and probably to fewer destinations. The cost is constant irrespective of how far you travel, so make the best use of it!

The trams are so easy and cheap to get around the city. Only $2.30 HK$ each time! I highly recommend getting an octopus card from central station (we got ours at the customer service desk near the airport checkin).

this is a vey colonial method of transporation. try it when it is non-peak hours. better to wander in HK, the best way to get lost (while on track). Very beautiful and photogenic.

Per ride is HK2.30 so you should either have octopus card or you should exact change. I think it wuld be very hard to ask for 0.70 change? i used octopus
