My favorite part of this hotel is the complimentary breakfast buffet. I had never been to China previous to this, but if this is a typical breakfast in this country, then it is easily my favorite meal of the day. The Chinese restaurant on the second floor is also excellent; I'm usually not a fan of restaurants housed in hotels, but the chef here was exceptional.
Very few staff speak English, though they usually have at least one person at the front desk that can help you. It would speed things along if you use a translator application (Bing does the job) and show the staff your translated question.
As mentioned in previous posts, the beds are hard, but the rooms are nice. The room's lights and air are only on when the card is in the slot (right next to the door), so be sure you leave it in all night, or the AC will not work. Our room had a strong cigarette smell at first, but we left a card in the room with the AC on over dinner and the smell had greatly reduced in an hour and was gone the next morning. Our room started at 24-25*C, and finally got it down to 21*C. The temperature always went up during the day while we weren't in the room, but usually only by a degree.

The WiFi can be tricky to log into; there's a few different networks that look like they could work, but I used ZG. When the log in page (entirely in Chinese) pops up, use the second tab 1/4 down the page to log in (the page automatically takes you to the first tab). Enter "ZG" in the first line and the password they provide you in the second line. This is what worked for me, but there might be other ways. You cold probably get help at the front desk. Occasionally, I was kicked off the network while working, but I had not problem logging back in.More
