What a experience! If you need the loos make sure you take a English map and a Chinese map,! Also there's 2 sorts off loos, so you don't get shocked! The toilet paper isn't in the loos as you think! It's on the part when you first go in,so you don't get caught short!
It's a huge place to visit, there are zoo buses that take you from a to b,in case your not where you want to go! The bears are the main attractions for me!,but it was amusing from my point of view,as people asked me for my photo,so I knew how the bears felt! But they have huge glass windows, which the top is open,so people throw good at them,,so they stand up and get! It's amusing to watch, but there's signs in English and Chinese do not feed the bears, but they do anyway!
There's brown bears black bears, and a poler bear as well, plus there's a bird section as well, with night terrors and pelicans and many more,it's truly a must to go,be prepared to be stopped as your nearly the only white person they ask to have there photo taken with you!

Some of the animals (especially the elephants) were hard to watch, because of their small cages... the pandas looked ok, but the rest? So sad...

It was nice to see the Pandas however you will need to pay another fee to visit this exhibit. Other sections of the zoo were not so great. Living conditions for the animals not so ideal and the nocturnal section was really dark. People were using the flashlights to find the animals. Elephants in Winter live indoor to keep warm however in cramp cages some in solitude. Australian animals section was fully deserted. Good clean bathroom facilities. Not good English signage throughout the park. The zoo has easy to the Metro by its front gate.

It was nice to see the pandas, but there were some upsetting scenes of very skinny lions/tigers. Overall it was a nice day out with friends.

On the whole visiting Beijing zoo is really sad. The animals are in tiny enclosures, with nothing to do and don't really look like they are fed.

The huge elephants hardly had space to stand up let alone move very far. The various types of monkey looked bored, underfed and many had deformities.

There are signs everywhere saying don't feed the animals but many of the Chinese families had brought food and the animals that they feed reacted as if they were staving.

It is really odd because the zoo is huge with lots of open space between the cages, so they could build more suitable homes.

The contrast with the Pandas is amazing. There are two large panda houses with a handful of Pandas. They had a good amount of space and seemed to have lots of different foods.

The Aquarium on site was also really good.
