“Peking Duck and a lot more!”
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Dadong Roast Duck has established a well recognized brand name, and for a good reason. Rumor has it that it was started by chefs from Quanjude restaurant, so it is an improvement of the peking duck. Which peking duck is better, is open to anyone's interpretation and individual taste. But what makes Dadong special is their attempt at improving other dishes through molecular gastronomy approach. It may seem pretentious and gimmicky, but I think it is an interesting experience anyway. Foie gras combined with cherry? Beef and plums? Tastes okay but worth to try, albeit a bit too pricey. Service can definitely be improved as well, considering how they are trying to present their restaurant as an upscale dining establishment

“Good food and atmosphere”
Reviewed 2 weeks ago via mobile

The hotel recommended this restaurant based on our preference to have Chinese food and made reservations. We arrived at the mall and struggled a little to get to the fifth floor based on the elevator bank we were using. Finally, we found the right elevator and arrived at the restaurant. The hostess mentioned we had an earlier reservation, but I explained to her that the taxi took the long way and we couldn't find the right elevator to bring us up to the fifth floor. In any case, we were taken to our table with no delay.

The menu can be a bit overwhelming when you first look at it, but if you know what you want, then suggest you tell the waiter. He didn't speak much English, but we managed to order duck, prawns and some vegetables by looking at the pictures. Later another waitress came by and recommended another plate which we ordered.

The food was really good, but I must say I've had similar or better elsewhere. The service was also good, but not necessarily the best.

Overall, we had a good experience, enjoyed the food, atmosphere and managed to order some really good plates despite the language. We are glad to have experienced this, but not sure if we would go again.

“Great duck!”
Reviewed 2 weeks ago via mobile

We visited Beijing and couldn't go without trying this typical dish, we went here because our guide recommended to us. Is a little bit pricey but it is worth it, the duck is delicious, only issue is that waitress doesn't speak english....which is not rare in Beijing!

“Haute Chinese cuisine - An overwhelming experience”
Reviewed 2 weeks ago via mobile

I had dinner here with a Company of 15 colleagues. We were upstairs in probably the most wonderful room of this fantastic beautiful restaurant. In about 1 hour and a half we were served not less than 20 different dishes including the famous Peking duck. It was an overwhelming experience, each dish being a delicious work of art, a joy for all senses. I Will certainly go back and recommend to everyone visiting Beijing.
