We stayed at the Royal Court Hotel for three days in mid-July 2015. We were visiting friends in the area after having not been in Mombasa for 25 years. The staff at the Royal Court Hotel were incredibly helpful, especially Alphonse, who went out of his way for us and was very friendly and cheerful while doing so, meeting several unusual requests for us. The room was very comfortable and quiet, the pool very clean and relaxing. Highly recommend for a city-center experience.

This happens to be my second visit to the hotel. Hard three nights and it was amazing.

Staff with good service. The food was great especially at 6th floor pool side. A point of advise kindly dont give individuals those double beds. A single big bed is always okey. If not available kimdl advise. Kindly include mosquito nets.

I had a pleasant stay. Recomended any time.

The place is really lovely, the staff are well mannered and qualified. Friendly staff and clean place too. The hotel facilities like, steam room, sauna and the swimming pool are on the top level of the hotel. They also have an in-house casino.
The hotel is located at the heart of Mombasa in the central business district.

Room Tip: A room which is not facing the road to avoid the distubance of the vehicles when they are passing.

All in all considering the location of the hotel, it is ok minus.
I visited during the Ramadan (an islamic holiday), so the noise from the Mosque during the night was awful. The bed mattress is so stiff - it caused me really bad back pains. There are only warm water in the shower, not hot. The hotel is not maintained properly (elevator a little scary). There is WIFI in every floor, and the quality of the connectivity depends on the room's location. Mine was poor, but my associate had a better location with quite good connection.
But it is clean, the staff is very friendly, and the breakfast is descent considering other hotels.

Room Tip: Try to avoid regular rooms, they are so small, and mattress is horrible.

Very good location for hotel in centre of Mombasa where no decent place exists except out of town. The place is still well kept for many years but the Quality of food has been going down. I fell ill with the food although I am fairly immune due to regular travel. The excellent Indian food is gone and now they serve things which barely look and taste Indian. If place is important then go for it. If food is important then look elsewhere.
