It is by far one of the best museums I have ever visited. They have arranged various items (from very old times to the modern day) in 4 floors and it indeed is a mixture of different museums and has something for everyone.

The museum work everyday from 9am to 5pm and the enterance fee is 7 GEL.

The most interesting items of the museum are the gold artefacts that dominate the bottom floor rooms. The items range from BC to medieval times and cover plaques, brooches, coins and other items. Well worth a visit for the gold items alone and makes you wonder how much gold Georgia had!. The upper floors cover temporary exhibitions and Soviet era items.

This museum has a superb collection of god artifacts from pre-history onwards. The legend of the Golden Fleece which was sought by Jason and the Argonauts originates in Georgia and much of the gold in this museum comes from that period, My favourites a necklace made of Tiny tortoises. A beautiful tiny lion from three thousand BC and a stunning gold Hair clip. I went with a guide and it made the whole visitso worthwhile.

for lovers of antiques, this museum offers superb works. Did not have much time to visit it, but the bottom floor is superb!

It was raining so it was a way of keeping dry. That said it was worth the visit. There is lots to learn about Georgia and Georgian history.
