Surprisingly discriminatory maître d’ toward young families. As a family with a 2.5 years old son we decided to finally discover the mouth watering dumplings all of our friends talked so much about. We did give a call in advance and were told that, kids were allowed on week days, we also have friend who went with their own kids under similar circumstances. Much to our surprise and disappointment we were unceremoniously sent back home, despite tables being free.... the lady at the reception has not even tried to contact her manager, but instead insisted, that their restaurant was not meant to be a place, where the little ones were tolerated (despite the aforementioned assurances we were independently given) . It is so funny, how at Shanghai Club (Shangri La Hotel), where we are regulars, they are so welcoming and are extremely happy to see our son (no matter the time and day of the week). Well...turns out, there are some “adult only” restaurants in Doha, so wether the food is good or not, how you are welcomed maters as well, hence the 1 star and the assurance that we will not go there again.
