My favorite middle eastern cuisine in Doha.. Especially they serve a traditional food with a modern twist! The ambiance is so great, and literally many of the restaurant corners feels like you are in an art gallery space!

Me and my friend visited Awani for ramadan iftar. They have a set menu for 148 rials composed of soup, salad, cold and hot appetisers, main course and desert.
We were surprised when the waiter came and told us that he will only serve 4 main courses cause the "chef" feels it is too much food and that we will be "good" with 4 main courses. "Chef" also suggested the plates we need to eat.
We told him that we are paying for 5 set menus so want 5 main courses. "Chef" is not supposed to be deciding how much we should eat and what we should eat.

The food quantity served as appetisers was very little, we felt as if we were begging for food.

The surprise was when we got the main courses. They served us 1/4 of regular main course quantity. The shawarma which is usually served in a stew was served in plates and looked old. As if these were left overs from previous customers.
We complained and after a 45 minutes wait they got us the main courses.

Finally they served deserts but again we had to ask for extra portion cause the portion served was for only 2 persons instead of 5.

Worst iftar experience ever. We left and felt that we got stolen and that we were begging for food all the time.

Total bill was 750 rials we felt that we were stolen.

Never we will come here again.

This property is very good, however specific managers have issues related to customer care and how guests should be treated which is a shame, as excellent would have been the review otherwise.

Location is good, design and concept well done and the food is excellent. Service wise from the waiting staff, friendly and professional, make note that the comment is for the staff being waiters and waitresses, not management representatives.

Visit on a regular basis, simply because the FOET.
