I have been for years and still continue to remain an ardent fan of Taj Hotels. Their hospitality is unparalleled and their quality of service is outstanding.
We stayed at the Taj Samudra only for a night but had enough time to visit 4 restaurants/lounges including the pool area. While the staff were extremely friendly everywhere we went, the service was painfully slow at Lattice and by the pool area. During both instances we just sat waiting for someone to show up and take our order. Both times we ended up walking towards a staff member and asking them if we could order because nobody showed up. Not to mention the slow turn-around time after the order was placed. It was a little disappointing given how great everything else at the hotel was.
But things did turn around for the better. We ate dinner at Happy Dragon and I must say that our experience from the previous two restaurants was completely reversed. Not only was the food excellent, the service was absolutely outstanding. Our server, a Mr. Kasun was friendly, prompt and a through gentleman. It finally felt like the "Taj experience" that I have known and come to expect.
I hope management takes note and makes some small improvements in this otherwise excellent establishment.
