New Liberation war museum
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

To understand the background and impact and facts and feelings of the Liberation war of Bangladesh, a visit to this place is a must. You can find, documents, pictures, sculptures and installations regarding our liberation war in this museum. When I visited the place, it was still under re-arrangement as they have shifted to a permanent and bigger place. I guess all the galleries and open by now. They often arrange cultural programs related to different national occasion. Joining one of those could add value for tourist.

This new museum well documents the Liberation War and the beginning of Bangladesh. To read the history, and see the photos and memorabilia shows the trauma of that birth which still affects Bangladesh today. The architecture is suited to the subject I felt, and galleries are well done, but it is a heavy place and leaves one sympathizing with the loss of so many and the broken families that exist in the liberation's wake.

Liberation War Museum is now situated at Sher-e Bangla Nagar, Agargaon in Dhaka. The new building has been inaugurated in this year but its journey was started in a two-storied old building at Segunbagicha in Dhaka. The new custom-built building has huge space with displays in several galleries, which include photographs, documents, media coverage and materials used by freedom fighters and martyrs of the Liberation War, which were organized in a nice systematic way. In the entrance of the museum, there is a fighter plane hanging on a side and a helicopter on the other side and a very good environment. It’s a very good museum to visit in Dhaka for the locals and tourists to witness and remember the struggle and sacrifice of the freedom fighters and martyrs of the Liberation War of Bangladesh.

If you wants to know about beginning of Bangladesh and the liberation war then add this place in your trip plan.

A short but nicely organized museum describes our birth as a country.

The arthichect design is really nice, details and light arrangement is good to understand everything properly.
