First off, our tour guide Mario (supermario) was a wonderful, cheeky Vietnamese chappy who managed to create the right balance of fun, fast-paced, thorough and relaxed on a day tour which should really be spread over 2 separate days. He was highly knowledgable on the history of the war, and created amazing rapport with the entire group, even quizzing us periodically throughout the day. The driver was great, made us feel safe on the busy streets, and the van comfortable with amazing air-con. Although there was a fair amount of driving time on the tour, I felt like we had a decent amount of time at the tunnels and at the delta, stopping for a delicious lunch with all the trimmings - and the best sticky rice I’ve ever had. They even catered for veggie/gluten free dietary requirements. If you are looking for a speedy way to tick these activities off the list, then this is a great way to do it. I didn’t quite know how to feel about the royal-jelly enterprise in the delta - they kinda pressure you into spending $10 a pop on a jar of it. The horse and cart ride also made me uneasy, due to the poor condition of the horses who looked skinny, unhealthy and tired of lugging heavy tourists down a dirt road. This bit was quite unnecessary.
Overall though it was definitely worth the money, and I had a lovely time!
