We worked with Amy to plan a tour that fit our needs. Overall, the tour was very well organized and we were well taken care of. They never lost us! Going from one town or city to the next and meeting up with different guides. We did a combination of small group and private at the 3-star level accommodation, which was very good. All of the guides were very good and helpful. You will be in good hands if you book a tour with Vietnam Unique.

Our guide in Hanoi was very knowledgeable but difficult to understand.

We went to Sapa and requested a homestay; however the homestay was more of a hostel. If you want a real homestay, you will need to verify that you are the only tourists with a family. The accommodation was good, but we did not have a real opportunity to interact with the family that ran the "hostel."

For Halong Bay, we booked the second night on Catba Island - which I highly recommend. You get to see more of the bay and relax and do additional kayaking. We were luck to be put on the Silver Sea Cruise ship which had incredibly good gourmet meals and luxury accommodations.

We had requested to go to the Pha Nha-Ke Bang National Park to see the caves. I was also hoping that we could do some hiking here and learn about the ecology and wildlife. This was one area where the tour was misrepresented. We were told that we would have a guide who know about the wildlife and plants, but she did not. That was a disappointment. Also - you should be aware that the cave where the do the zipline and mudbath is more of an adventure park scene. Not bad, but not what we were looking for. We went kayaking up the river on our own rather the doing the dark wet cave and mud bath. We were very happy with that choice. PARADISE CAVE was incredible! Not to be missed.

We enjoyed taking the overnight trains as a way to get where we were going without losing precious daytime hours. The train to Sapa was fantastic. The train to Dong Hoi was not as nice (bathroom unpleasant).

Hue was a great town to check out the old palaces and the bhuddist pagoda and monastery.

Saigon is crazy! But still a must see. Our mistake was to be there the week before the Tet holiday. I think that the traffic was especially bad and we spent too much time in the car. Our guide, Khang, was fantastic. If traffic is that bad, you may want to skip the journey to the Chu Chi tunnels. Our sightseeing in the Mekong Delta was too much driving.

Again - overall - Vietnam Unique provides very good service.

Booked through the Internet and TripAdvisor. Many emails later organised Majestic and Relaxed tour of Vietnam and Cambodia with Vietnam Unique Tours and worked with the wonderfully efficient and caring LUCY. The whole tour ran like clockwork, the 3 star hotels were excellent and we were treated like royalty. The organised tours were excellent and all paid for and the air conditioned van that often transferred 4 of us was fantastic. we also had a few internal flights which enabled us to spend more time sightseeing. Another extra was the 3-4 days spent in Nha Trang - a rest in the middle of the holiday. we booked 4 star for this one but the 3 star would have been very good. Cambodia was a private tour for 4 of us, an air conditioned van, a driver and a guide, would recommend including this at end of Vietnam holiday. We did this tour and it was very impressive. Our guide Mr Tôn my new friend was very kind, gave us many detailed explanation. He is also a great football (soccer) fan, and that is very good. I strongly recommend!
