We were hosted at this hotel on our visit to Hanoi to see friends and were very grateful. All our transport was by private car with professional driver and we were taken to various restaurants around Hanoi to eat. We used the hotel for sleeping only.
Our room on 19th floor was large with great views day and night. The clean bathroom had rain and low showers and copious hot water. The king size bed was comfortable. The toilet was Japanese bidet style with Male and female wash settings and warm air drying. Unfortunately the room smelt a bit mouldy and the air con was either on or off - no user control seemed to be possible.
When we arrived around midday we found water dripping from the ceiling and pooling on the floor. We reported it to the front desk and were asked to be patient as the engineer was working on it. We put down towels to avoid slipping but it was not fixed until the next day.
Despite this, we enjoyed our stay and found front of house staff to be unfailingly friendly and courteous - as everywhere in Vietnam. The claim in lights outside to be the "best hotel in the world" is either ironic or aspirational, but raised a smile :)
Perhaps one day when the current young staff become managers it may be achieved :)

The hotel is located in the new side of Hanoi, suitable for business trips
Hanoi traffic can be very crowded, with a lot of jams, therefore location is important and may save a lot of time.
On the other hand, the hotel is quit far from the old quarter, the Hoan Kiem lake, which is a major tourist attraction.

Rooms are large and clean. Personnel is nice and speaks good English.

Breakfast is very good, including both international and Vietnamese cuisine.

When I saw the hotel, it was like an office building converted into hotel property.
The lobby seemed grand but it didn't give any luxurious feeling the moment I stepped in.

Aircon was miserable in hotel and in room, it was centrally controlled at lowest 22 degrees only.
Room and toilet were big though.
I wanted to use Rain shower but once I turned the tap, I heard a roaring noise, not sure why and gave up. The knob on tap was terribly designed and when I had soap on my hand, I couldn't turn! I had to use towel !

The safe was not similar in international standard. Normally one would key in password and lock. This one, had no instruction and after you turned the dial, the safe was jammed. I also gave up using.

Many Koreans guests and I think the hotel is owned by Korean.

The breakfast quality appeared big spread but quality of food is wasn't good.

I saw the 7 star plaque behind the reception and to me, I don't reconcile to how I feel during my stay though... i didn't feel excited or luxurious at all...
