This was a very nice surprise! We had a very pleasant stay and extended it with 5 more nights.
For this price (800 thb ex breakfast) it was an excellent deal, long time ago that we had a hotel that takes care of their guests and keeps their standards high. Good and nice looking rooms, we had big windows and could see the mountains. Very clean, so were the towels and sheets. Very comfortable mattress and pillow, good working ac, wifi was fast and worked always, good bathroom. Some international tv channels, safe, fridge, every day 2 water bottles, kettle and tea/coffee, robes and slippers, some toiletries, enough sockets.
The surroundings are very quiet, no traffic, no dogs, no noise, sometimes a plane came over but that didn’t bother us. Service was good, they have a free pick up from the airport and they also provided us with a free drop off. They have a shuttle that goes a few times a day to the center. The only thing is, keep in mind it is far from the old town/ center, it is close to the airport, but it will take you by scooter about 15/20 minutes to the old town. So you need transportation, otherwise you will be stuck with these irritating red tuk- tuks, these are ridiculous expensive, uncomfortable and take so much longer to get anywhere. We rented a scooter and then the location is a very good option, because the center is so busy and polluted! Staff is very friendly and helpful, you can also book tours at the hotel. We didn’t try the breakfast, it was 200THB pp.
We ate at Café de Oasis (https://www.facebook.com/CafeDeOasisCM/info) about a 10 minute walk, great breakfast! Good coffee and lovely cakes, beautiful garden café, can recommend. Around the hotel are some nice Thai restaurants, good food and cheap. Try the one further down, right next to B2 hotel, great and cheap food and a funny ambience! I think it is called Nongfluk. Close to the hotel is mini market. They offer free bicycles, but they were all broken, the saddle, steering wheel, peddles, they all were in need of a repair. There are two female receptionists who speak English very well, but they leave after 5-6pm, the rest of the staff speaks hardly English.
If we are in Chiang Mai, we will stay here again. Can definitely recommend but keep in mind that you do need transportation.
We rented a scooter from https://www.facebook.com/ChiangMaiScooterRental; Tel:0921052993/ 0857114403. Paid 200 thb per scooter, and you don’t have to give your passport, he will accept a copy and a lower deposit than the rest, both the scooters were in good condition. He will bring and pick up the scooter at the hotel.
