Unfortunately this hotel provided my new husband and I with the most underwhelming stay of the trip. We arrived for our honeymoon - which they knew- And beyond a verbal congrats there was just nothing special done to acknowledge it. In fact there were drinks we never ordered from the bar on our final bill! The staff here actually seem rather absent compared to other hotels we stayed at in Thailand.

Location - for us it was just ok. Its surroundings are somewhat shabby though we never felt unsafe. 24 hour security was nice. You will have to walk a bit to the main road to find a tuk tuk. It's in the walled city but on the far opposite end of the night market and nightlife. We wouldn't stay again in this area.

The grounds are pretty and the pool looked nice. We did not use it As it rained most days. Breakfast is good and it's served in their restaurant table side not buffet. However it never changes and after 5 days we were tired of it.

The rooms were disappointing for the price. We chose a deluxe room. First they are very small. There is one small armoire to hold clothes. No iron and ironing board. Second The bathroom was very small and outdated. Needed major renovation and an actual bathtub would be nice. The coffee maker is in the bathroom which I found to be gross. Also the bathroom door kept sliding off the track and my husband had to fix it twice. The bathrobes provided were a joke- it felt like you were wearing a bedsheet!

My opinion is that some room renovations need to happen in order to meet the high prices they charge for chiang Mai. The staff need better training to be more present and helpful.

We stayed 5 days for our anniversary and we enjoyed our time staying in this hotel.

1. Convenient location, only 20 mins drive from airport and 10 mins drive to night bazzar.

2. Artful structure, the hotel itself is the masterpiece and it is covered with collectibles of the owner, orchids are everywhere, you must visit their library

3. Peaceful atmosphere, quite & clean room, it is a great place for relax and stress relief. Friendly staffs (and their GM Paul Walker) are so helpful. Free wifi available for me to stay connected to the world.

4. Great chefs, delicious breakfast (no words), dinner is even better (must try their Myanmar curry and mango sticky rice wrap)

This is my new favorite hotel. It is the design of Thai architect/owner Ong-ard Satrabhadhu. Every detail is carefully executed. The space is serene and restful. Located in the old city yet the grounds are an oasis of peace and quite. The food is simple, fresh and beautifully presented. The staff is very professional.

Best place to stay in Chiangmai as its central to everywhere. The hotel is a 5-star oasis to escape from the city yet it is located in the city. The staff are friendly and professional making our stay extremely seamless. The room is exquisite with old Thai charm yet furnished with modern day necessities. We definitely would come back here next time!
