If you are looking for day drips outside city than it can be good base as it is located bit far from the main City. You need to rent a bike for commutation or just hop on to red trucks. Hotel have basic amenities

Positive: friendly staff, spacious room, beautiful scenery from the room, good for large groups, or if you are driving your own vehicle.

Negative: expensive getting in and out of the hotel, 300 THB for each trip out of the hotel and another 300 THB at least to get back. If you have never been to Chiang Mai, 500 THB is enough to pay for a really good 2 hour Thai massage.

30 minutes drive on tuk tuk to get from town to hotel. Most tours don't do pick up coz it so far out of the way.

Breakfast was the worst I had in Thailand, cold and overcooked, eatable but not tasty. Orange juice gave me and my husband the runs. Rooms are not well sound proof, heard every word from room next door and woken up by other guests early every morning. Only amenity was shampoo. soap, toilet paper and towels. Air con is loud. No light in dining room.

Room Tip: balcony room

Noisy aircon, far out from any civilisation at all, no tuk tuk or taxis knew where it was, so was difficult getting back in the evening. Staff were lovely but didn't speak English so was hard for them to be helpful. The rooms were quite nice and spacious. Breakfast in the morning wasn't the best, with ants being on the table next to the jam and the omelette station wasn't manned so the egg mixture and already made up fried eggs has flies landing on them

Due to a scheduling error on our part, we arrived in Chiang Mai a day too early for our reservation at a different spa resort, and they didn't have a room available for us. Thanks to the helpful receptionist, the Mountain Resort was able to accommodate us for the night. They even sent a driver to pick us up, and on top of that, they drove us to a nearby market area so that we could grab some clean clothes and toiletries, because our luggage hadn't made the proper connections and wouldn't get to us for two more days. It was about 8pm when we pulled up, and pretty quiet. The staff was very kind and friendly.
The room was nice, the bed was large and comfortable. I don't recall seeing any insects, except maybe a mosquito or two, thanks to the geckos that adorned the hallways and ceilings.
The continental breakfast was very good, lots of fresh fruit and it also included an order of eggs, or a couple other options.
The location was a bit remote, tucked back into a little neighborhood, so you would definitely need a driver or your own transportation to go do anything. One draw back was that the next morning something close by was under renovation, so there was the constant buzzing of a saw. Not the most peaceful sounds, but I don't know if it was from hotel maintenance or a nearby project.
My husband and I also got massages while we were there, which were nice, but the rooms aren't the most modern. I haven't been to a lot of spas so I didn't have much to compare it to, but the masseuse was very polite.
I think this place was nice, and I greatly appreciate them accommodating us on such short notice.

We rented two rooms for a business trip and brought the family.

This is one of the worst places we ever stayed. The list of problems that staff were very unhelpful to fix and basically admitted they just couldn't fix and didn't care so tough for us.

No hot water

Mold in the ice tray of fridge that didn't work

Phone didn't work

Tasteless cold food

Sewage smell when you sit outside at the balcony. So bad it's like you're next to a treatment plant.

Useless and slow wifi. Tiny TV.

Stains on the floor.

Dirty cups.

Basically totally unhygienic.

Apparently the owners are in this for the profit and could care less about guests.

Don't stay here, don't let your company use this place.

There are hundreds of places where you won't have any of these problems got one quarter the price. Go and stay at one of them and enjoy a nice shower.
