I discovered this place while looking for hotels in the Chiang Mai forum. There was a promotion that was being offered through the hotel's own website, so I grabbed it. And it turned out to be one of the best, most relaxing and memorable hotel stays I have ever had. My wife and I stayed for 5 nights upto the 17th of May

First of all, the property itself is superb - built quite recently, in the style of the old Lanna kingdom palaces, with generously sized rooms, lots of teakwood (flooring and furniture), and a jacuzzi in every bathroom. There are just 14 rooms - 7 on the ground floor and 7 on the first floor. It's intimate, cosy, and luxurious in an old-world way.

Second, the location is what we were looking for - NOT inside the old city, but in a quiet side street just 10 minutes away south of the old city, next to the Nong Hoi market.

Third, and most important, the hosts (owners) - Mr. Pong and his family - who made us feel like this hotel was home. It would be an understatement to say that we were completely blown away by their warmth and helpfulness. Pong himself went way above and beyond what even the most demanding guest could have expected. On our first evening there, he walked with us to the nearby 7-11 to help us buy some special supplies (to meet our dietary restrictions). He also helped us buy a local SIM card, choose and buy a prepaid plan, and got us connected within minutes. He helped us install and configure Grab (Thailand's Uber) and showed us how to use it. On our 4th day, he arranged a car and driver for us to visit local sights. He recommended a fabulous restaurant for that drive. So many more examples of his helpfulness come to mind - we'd turn to him for advice on every little thing. And he was ALWAYS smiling and courteous. His mother was the driving force behind setting up the hotel. She and the family are experienced hoteliers, having run hotels successfully for several years, and their experience shows.

A bit more on the hotel itself and the rooms: Large, with a generously sized double bed, immaculately clean, huge and spotless bathroom with a jacuzzi, a separate shower cubicle, sink and WC. (The only flaw in our entire stay was that the shower cubicle is small, and water trickles out through a gap between the sides and the floor - nothing serious and something that can possibly be fixed with a small strip of stone to act as a barrier). The shower itself was excellent. The housekeeping was meticulous, and 2 bottles of drinking water provided everyday were very helpful. Wi-Fi was excellent - we could watch Netflix easily. The bed was generous - king size, I think - and had a very high-quality mattress and pillows, with plenty of throw cushions. Air-conditioning worked perfectly. There was a large LG smart TV in the room to which I could connect my laptop to watch my own content.

As vegetarians, we got a decent breakfast - yogurt (Pong made sure he got us our preferred non-sweetened brand), fresh fruit, salad, cereal, toast, juice, coffee, and even a freshly made platter of sautéed vegetables one day for my wife.

All in all, I can just say this: GRAB this hotel if you get a chance and experience outstanding hospitality for yourself!

Pong, we are looking forward to coming back, and have recommended this to several of our friends already.

Room Tip: We liked our corner room on the upper floor (no. 207)

The new Amatta Lana Village situated a little bit far from centre town but worth the five minutes extra ride.
Spacious rooms, warm hospitality, relaxing pool, nice breakfast, smiling staff. Don't hesitate even though price is higher than average.

This gorgeous boutique hotel was perfect for our stay. The staff were beyond accommodating and friendly. It was my partners birthday during our stay and without hesitation, they helped me organize a delicious cheesecake with a huge bunch of flowers.
The rooms are large and beautiful, and the beds, possibly the comfiest I’ve had in my travels through south east Asia.
It is a little away from the hustle and bustle of old quarter, serene and quiet, however the staff will happily organise transport for you wherever you may want to go, and also give you some of the best suggestions of places to eat.
I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Chiang Mai, you won’t regret your stay.

This boutique hotel was built by the owner a year ago on a piece of derelict land a couple of km from Chiang Mai centre. It has been built in the traditional local style, much of it from reclaimed wood. It is an oasis in a busy suburb and a great place to return to and relax in after a day of sightseeing. The 12 rooms are large and airy with large beds and plenty of space, and the baths have a jet/massage facility. They all overlook the swimming pool. All the staff are smiling and friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble. It's worth eating at least one evening meal as it is very good, traditional and served next to the outdoor kitchen.

Definitely worth staying there and easy to reach the city by taxi (cheap fares).

Room Tip: All the rooms appear to be identical at ground level or along a first floor balcony.

We were blown away as soon as we arrived at this beautiful property - a warm welcome into a lush oasis with a stunning garden in Lanna style, lots of teak and greenery and water features.

Lovely large room with a comfortable four poster bed. Beautiful huge bathroom with big bathtub/jacuzzi, flowing hot water and good water pressure.

Pool was lovely, clean and inviting (we didn’t find it too cold. Perhaps time of year?)

Breakfast wasn’t included in our price so we gave it a try once. It was very good and freshly prepared but pricey for Chiang Mai and you could get better mango and sticky rice at the Nong Hoi market and have it while enjoying coffee at our fave cafe, Two Sisters.

Don’t be put off by the location, though it is a bit out of town - 40 mins walk to old city - its just a 10 min cab ride and totally worth it for what you get here, and by the end we were regulars at the market, esp for brekkie. We downloaded Grab (app like uber) and used it as well as the local Songthaew. A ride for 2 of us typically cost 60-70 baht.

We had a great stay and our favourite part was the warmth and professionalism of the owners and staff. Ofe, Pong and Tikki looked after us extremely well, arranged activities, suggested restaurants and made us feel so comfortable throughout our stay it felt like home. Our favourite stay in Thailand. Highly recommend it!
