Badly managed, dishonest.

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 7 Aug 2024
Air con in room broke twice, no air con in boiling hallways which also smelt of sewerage with a hint of chemicals, room smelt damp and of smoking even though was a no smoking room (probably not had a lick of paint in decades), key card operating electrics was dodgy leaving us in intermittent darkness, very noisy air con units/generators directly outside of flimsy patio window on filthy balcony overlooking filthy buildings (online photos have been tampered with to say the least), Wi-Fi barely worked had to go to neighbouring hotel to work, Centre Point under renovation, entrance and ugly lobby covered in plastics like scene from ET, workers roaming everywhere – like obstacle course, large electric cupboards left open, one elevator's interior had been ripped out and covered in some sort of temporary chipboard with exposed electrics - my son had an electric shock pressing button – drilling (pneumatic style) started very early in the morning waking us after a 19 hour journey, beds like bricks, receptionist very unwelcoming, unhelpful and lethargic (possibly embarrassed) - suspect weary of complaints because the place is not fit for guests. We left after one night of 5. Neither Centre Point nor Agoda communicated that renovations were underway affecting the whole hotel, perhaps causing the air con and sewerage smell issues. One elevator of just two was not fit for operation, we would not use, leaving us waiting for several minutes each time we wanted to reach the 16th floor, reception, or the exit which was a few floors down. The rooms are extremely tired, pool basic, restaurant uninviting like a work's canteen, there is nothing attractive, sanitary or remotely 4-star about this hotel. The lack of attention to health and safety alone shows the level of care this hotel shows to its guests. Badly managed, grasping for money, dishonest. Upon making a complaint, the hotel is claiming it was NOT under renovation. All too late (I went off Agoda's advert when booking), I have found the hotel's renovation schedule on its own website.

Dear Khun Destination398666,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We regret to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations.

We understand your concerns about the air conditioning, the smell in the hallways, and the condition of the room. We assure you that we take all feedback seriously and are committed to providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all our guests.

Regarding the elevator, we did not remove the panel but covered it for protection during the renovation period. We apologize if this caused any misunderstanding or inconvenience.

We acknowledge that the renovation process can cause some disruption, and we have been transparent about this with all our online travel agents before the renovation started. We are doing our best to minimize the impact on our guests and appreciate your patience during this time.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back after the renovation, and we are confident that you will have a much more enjoyable experience.

Best regards,

The room was spacious with a great view of the river.
I enjoyed the breakfast and the pool was nice and big.
You could literally go out of the hotel and right in to a mall.

Some upgrade was happening so the main lobby was moved to another floor but that didn’t affect the good service provided.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a river view it’s worth it

We travelled as a couple and stayed for 5 nights. We chose this hotel based on the reviews. We have stayed at some other hotels in Bangkok and wanted to try something new.
Centrally located hotel with proximity to small shopping center and skytrain. McDonalds and Starbucks on the ground floor. Supermarket Tops also. Great.

Upon check-in, we ask to see the room , only after previous disappointments. The receptionist then quickly changes his mind and says that we have been upgraded and given a much nicer room than the one we booked. Felt a bit strange and like we wouldn't be happy with the first room.
Large room with kitchen and large bathroom. The balcony area on the hotel website was photo shopped and turned out to be noisy dirty with a big AC and a big highway below. A real disappointment. Heavy traffic 24/7.
The kitchen lacked kitchen equipment in the cupboards and could not really be used because of this. Large pool and sun loungers but lots of families with children and high noise level and screaming and running. Both my husband and I also suffered itchy rashes from the pool water!!!
The breakfast was very good with a large selection and both clean and fresh. Very happy with this one. Pad Thai from the restaurant lovely!!
On departure, we had asked the hotel to book a taxi at 5.30 am, but it turned out that they completely forgot about this, Not ok and with no excuse.
We are not completely satisfied with this hotel and will not choose it next time in Bangkok.

Room tip: Balcony not as nice as on the hotel´s website. Dirty with noisy AC and a noisy highway below with heavy traffic 24/7. Photo shopped!

A perfectly okay hotel with a good location between the airports. The hotel is located next to Silom Complex shopping mall.

Prons
Central location between airports
Close to public transport
Good cleaning
Very good breakfast
Very nice staff
Quick check-in
Large and airy room
Washing machine

Cons
The hotel environment is a bit old, back to the 2000s
Something was wrong with the pool, got a rash.
If you live facing the river, the view also gives you a busy road as a view.
Old air conditioning very high noise level both inside and outside.
Kitchen equipment was missing in the kitchen.

Room tip: Select a room as high up as possible. Have breakfast before 9:00 am.

Great hotel with extremely service-minded staff. They make sure to help you with everything you need, descreet and always with a smile. The rooms are great with comfortable beds. Nights were quiet, no disturbing traffic noise at all.
I didn't realize I'd forgotten a pair of shoes until they showed up at the hotel on my next destination. Staff at Centre Point Silom had checked what my next destination was and sent them there. Impressively excellent service. Thank you so much :-)

Room tip: Short walk to the boat pier/ferries and to the skytrain. A great restaurant across the street (Nalain Kitchen).
