Owner description: Bangkok’s answer to mass transit started operating in December 1999 and is a convenient and useful way of getting around the city.

It is a few years s since the sky train took to the tracks above congested streets Modern, efficient, air conditioned and inexpensive... the BTS and underground are the fastest and cleanest way to get around the main areas of interest.
Don’t touch or push the Thai people or indeed any others .. they queue/ line up here and wait for people to exit the train first and are very respectful ... don’t spoil it!

Best way to get around congested Bangkok. Takes you directly to the main shopping areas and to the river plus out to the weekend market. Crowded so make sure you pay a pass for however long you are staying as there are long queues for tickets.

It was our primary means of transportation to/fro hotel and platinum shopping mall.
I suggest stay within the green line where most of the popular shopping areas - platinum fashion mall and chatuchak weekend market can be visited.

It’s fast transportation service to avoid the heavy traffic. Only disadvantage is you need to buy each time separate ticket if you are changing the lines (routes) which is very frustrating & teller machines only accept coins . Imagine if 4 pax you need to insert 40 times coins if each needs to pay 10 TBH

A real quick and easy way to get around once you understand the different train lines. Highly recommended
